I don't think I expected to wake up feeling the same. My subconscious thought was that it was going to be a spur of the moment, 'consider it but don't actually consider it' situation. But the first thing I did was check my phone. 1 new message from Cole.

Suddenly I'm right back in the mindset I was in last night: this could be a good thing for me, and I'm more interested than I am nervous. So I make a comment along the lines of "bless you for being up at 5:30 in the morning" and the conversation runs just as smoothly as it had yesterday, eventually coming to the point of me receiving Alexis's number along with a promise that she's more than happy to answer any of my questions.

"So far, what are you thinking?" Maybe he thinks I'm wasting his time?

"I'm still just wanting to get to know y'all and have a better idea of everything first, but right now I'm kinda leaning towards 'I don't see why I shouldn't try'"

"Maybe we could get lunch on campus today?"

Debbie.

"They're so nice! I'm meeting them for lunch."

"Oh my goodness!! I can't wait to hear about it!"

"I'm nervous.. Why the hell am I nervous?"

"Don't be! Just relax and talk to them about school and work and ask them questions about their life and how they met, etc."

"I have to go get ready. I just had lab, I look like a bum."

"Hahaha! Go make yourself hot!"

"What do I wear?! Nice boots? The brown ones? The stripper boots. It's raining and I don't own an umbrella.."

"Not a dress, nothing too revealing either. So like, a pair of jeans that make your butt look good and a nice blouse"

"I'M NERVOUS"

"RELAX! They're going to be your friends too"

"I've never had to woo more than one person at a time before! I need a beer!"

"You can do it! You're so cute!"

"Debbie.. They're ATTRACTIVE."

Scene change to Chick-fil-a 2 hours later, it's pouring rain, and my leather boots are getting soaked as I wade through puddles and up to the door. Don't turn around. Look at the counter. Chicken sandwich? Nah. Nuggets. Nuggets are good. Don't turn around. Breathe. Pay the nice lady. Breathe. Get your food. And turn.

My eyes take in every person in the restaurant in less than 2 seconds, but they settle on exactly what they were looking for: a curvy, fair-skinned girl with hair that would make fire crack in jealousy, and the lean, golden-skinned and sandy haired boy with the kindest eyes I've ever seen. Breathless and shaking, I nod my head at them and smile.

"We have the table in the corner if you want to set your stuff down," Alexis smiles at me, and a lot of my fear melts away. What do I have to be scared of? They don't bite, but I'm sure if they do, I'd like it. Whoa, where the hell did that come from? So I'm faced with a new dilemma as I saunter over to the booth: where the hell do I sit? They've obviously set up shop from across each other, so I'm given a choice. Do I sit next to Alexis and stare at Cole, or do I sit next to Cole and stare at Alexis? Deciding to converse with the same person I've been in contact with, I slide in where Alexis's things were sitting and text Debbie to let her know that I was hyperventilating, the part about them being attractive, and then put my phone away and fiddled with my waffle fries.
