When 15 year old Tyler Shaw's house in Florida is swept away during a hurricane, him and his dad decided to move to a small town in Tennessee. Tyler's mother mysteriously left when he was six.
Tyler's whole life changes in his new town, new friends, new school, new home... but mostly when he befriends Ren, a strange boy... who can control fire. Within a week of living in Tennessee, Tyler discovers he can control an element and is sucked into Rens world of Contrilees, people who can control the elements. Tyler finds himself in a world of Contrilees and goes to the University where he studies more about the elements and the creation of their society. With a new world filled with new friends, enemies, good and evil, Tyler will be struggling to find his place in the world, thinking he doesn't belong there. Will Tyler be able to handle all this after he learns that he is the chosen one to defeat a rising dark lord?
