Banana: Oops! Sorry, Lace! Didn't mean to send that screenshot to everyone! But we should all talk through group text so were not overheard by that gender-neutral voice from the loudspeaker!! I think it's Mr. Kevin! He must be the hacker! I left Mr. Kevin out of this text.
CRUSH: Great idea.
Mr. Kevin: omg. I've never been on a group text before! Am I doing it right? lolololol
Mr. Kevin: Wait??? You think I'm the hacker?!?! lol
Banana: Dangit I can't help but be inclusive even when I don't want to be. Starting a new group text. Sorry Mr. K.
Mr. Kevin: omg sad face.
****
Banana: New group text without Mr. K.
Marmie: fail banana
Banana: Once you've incorporated inclusiveness into your core, it's almost impossible not to be it. Why do you think the haunting experience of using the wrong pronoun for Strawberry was such a dark secret?
Marmie: i meant with the screenshot genius
Banana: I don't even know how that happened! It's like it just sent itself!
Lace: Guys, let's focus on the task at hand!! AND NOTHING ELSE!! I'm still stuck in the gym with Harry. Once we got gravity back, some of the equipment fell down and blocked the doors in both ends. We're trapped.
CRUSH: Are you okay, Lace?
Marmie: just get that big hunk of man to move the damn equipment? doesn't he always boast about his strengths?
Lace: I'm fine, Crush or as fine as could be expected. Harry is not though; he's rocking back and forth muttering something about how he regrets spending all his time on sports and something about wanting to dance. Guys, I'm scared.
Banana: Mr. K keeps looking in our direction. He looks so sad. I feel horrible, you guys.
CRUSH: Uh huh. Do you know what that means? Let me just check outside...
Lace: What?!
Banana: Crush is right... It's all dark, overcast and foggy outside. It's the doubt fog.
Marmie: no! it'll make everyone doubt every important choice they've ever made and bring out people's insecurities.
CRUSH: It's rolling in over the school right now...
Lace: Harry is so out of it that he can hardly move, let alone get on the group text. Will that happen to all of us?
Banana: I think it depends on how secure you are in the choices you've made. The more regrets you carry around; the more you will be impaired. On the other hand if you live a life without regrets and take every opportunity handed to you, then it shouldn't be too bad. I think.
Marmie: all sunshine and bananas for you then. is it purrfect?
Lace: MARMIE!!
Banana: Marmie, shut down your finger tapping loud mouth!
Marmie: i don't feel too good...
Jim: I'm not sure I can do it. I won't be able to stop Freak Week. It's too difficult and I can't do it on my own. There's a reason they locked me up at that facility, you know, I'm a failure...
