Addison Simmers. My new name. My new life.

I am 15 and like rock music, football and boxing. My nickname is Addi and I enjoy hanging with my friends and joking around. I have long, curly, brown hair that is always tied back into a pony tail and bright green eyes. I never wear any makeup and like to go with the natural look. I have moved to Grove gardens secondary school because of my dad's new job and have an obsession with my blue Nike cap.

I closed the folder and stopped reading. This was who I was now. A new person, a new personality and a new look. My last cover story was much different to this one, with heavy make-up and a shopping obsession. Now, I had to forget everything I learned about being a teenage girl and turn into one of the boys. I let out a slow moan as I got up and stretched out my long limbs. Father would be here soon, and I had too prepare. I sat down in front of my laptop on the hotel bed and searched up all I could think of about football and boxing. I had a strong memory so I picked up the basics of football pretty quickly and I already knew how to throw a meaningful punch from my training. I listened to a couple of rock songs and learned the names of some recent bands and laid back onto the soft bed.

This assignment was going to be over and done with quickly. A stupid boy who had been involved in a drug deal and a dangerous gang leader. Wouldn't be too hard to get the boy away and the drug dealer locked up. I opened up the boys folder again and read it a second time. His name was Zander Pohl. He was a football player and the best boxer in the school. He was one of the popular kids and lived a life of friends and luxury. His parents were both lawyers and had buckets full of money, that Zander was free to take whenever he wanted and a massive house full of more luxuries. Apparently, he was doing business with a big dick. Ranger Dallas. A gang leader in the area who I have had some run ins with before. He was back, and dealing again. Ranger was in prison for 5 years on a previous drug scandal, that I had found out and kicked his fat ass in a cell. He was released for good behaviour last year and has resurfaced again, looking for trouble. Zander had somehow gotten involved and was in a great deal of danger of getting caught up in one of Rangers plans. Once he used someone - mostly unseeing kids - he would pin the blame on them and ruin their lives. It was my job to stop that from happening.

A sharp knock on the door pulled me out of my reading and off the bed. I opened the door with grace and manner as Father walked into the room. His broad shoulders and black hair both business like and formal. His black suit flapping around his slim waist as he walked. Father picked up the remote for the TV and sat in the purple armchair. He switched it on and turned the channel over too a football game.

"How is your homework going?" He asked, sticking to the script.

"Alright. I have just finished my history piece and am revising for my English assessment" I replied. History code for reading up on Zander and English for getting to know my new identity.

"Good good. I want it done by tomorrow and it needs to be handed in by when? Monday?" He questioned, already knowing the response.

"Monday. Yes. It will be ready by tomorrow and I will hand it in bright and early Monday morning" I put a little tone of annoyance in my voice, just in case anyone was listening in.

"This task is a big one, Addison. I expect you to get an A on this"

"I'm planning on getting an A*"

"That's my girl. Pushing herself to the limits" He leaned forward in his chair and said "Goal!" as the ball flew into the net on the screen.

"Can I ask you something dad?" I said, not sticking to the script like I usually did.

Father looked shocked for a second and then turned the channel on the TV to the music channel and turned up the volume so nothing would be heard over the tunes. He walked over to me, his tall figure looming over me like a lion ready to pounce. "Ask away"

I was allowed to talk normally now. No one would be able to hear our conversation and Father had just given me permission to go off script. "My assessment. Is it a test?"

I asked this because the identity I had been given was totally different to anything I had ever done before, and the drug dealer was an easy target. Father could get him back in prison without having to send me on this mission. So, it made me wonder if he used this opportunity to test my skills.

"Everything is a test. A test of your abilities and capabilities. You know that" He answered, giving me a warning look. I wasn't supposed to ask questions, but that one just slipped out.

"Alright." I said, knowing I wasn't going to get a yes or no answer from him.

"I need to be off" he turned off the TV and the room went silent. "See you later darling"

I went back to the original script and said my closing line. "Love you, will text you later"

I closed the door after him and went into the bathroom. I sat in the tub and twisted a strand of my curly hair around my shaking finger. I don't know why, but my Father always scared me. He expected so much from me and I had never disappointed him before. I didn't see him as a dad. That part was just like a cover story, but it wasn't. He was blood. My father. But he wasn't at the same time. He was my boss, and if I didn't do a job right, I would be fired. Which was code for eliminated.
