Jen and Marc drive silently, listening to music. They get to Lupe's house as Jen gets out knocking on her door hearing the kids yelling inside. Jen grins as Lupe opens the door, greeting her and Marc with a hug as the kids scream, "mommy!!! Daddy!! Come see our art!!"
Emme grabs Marc's hand as max grabs Jen, both of them dragging their parents into the front room, where Lupe has laid out plastic sheets over the floor and table, the place covered in multi coloured paints. Jen covers her mouth looking at the twins, "cocos!!! The mess!!"
Emme pouts at her before showing her and Marc a painting of the family all in different colours, including two dogs. "It's beautiful!"
Marc grins kneeling down next to them, "you're so good em!! Where's your brothers??"
Max grins handing over his which is a picture of a cute cartoon character, "it's Lego man!!"
Jen grins at him looking at it, "I love it baby!!! You gonna hang them in your rooms???"
The twins nod at her together while Marc grins looking over at Lupe, who is standing behind them, "we'll help you clean up"
Lupe laughs shaking her head, "don't be silly, you two want a drink or something to eat?"
Jen shakes her head no looking at her mum, "no, no we really should be going, I've got rehearsals in an hour and we haven't even been home yet"
Lupe pouts nodding, "okay kids, go get your bags while I clean up"
By the time she's said this Jen is already kneeling down on the floor, folding up the paint covered plastic sheeting Lupe had put down, trying not to get paint anywhere.
Lupe shakes her head "Jen I said I got it, it's fine"
Jen smiles at Lupe as Marc goes upstairs to help the twins get their things together, "it's okay, you helped me out so much by having them , how were they?"
Lupe nods while picking up brushes and paint tubes, "they were perfect, max had a nightmare last night but hasn't mentioned it since, a gift??" She reaches out, touching the bracelet Marc has gotten her.
Jen nods, smiling at her, "yeah...Marc got it for me, nice right?"
Lupe nods raising her eyebrows, "must have cost a fortune, for diamonds like that"
Jen bites her lip sighing, "he's been so nice recently...we don't argue anymore"
Lupe grins at her, "good thing right???"
Jen shakes her head, shrugging, "makes me think he's guilty about something"
Lupe goes to reply as the kids run down with Marc behind them, "ready Jen??"
Jen leans in kissing her mums cheek, "we'll go for lunch next week"
Lupe nods while hugging all four of them waiting for them to get into the car before shutting the door.
As soon as they get home the kids run to their rooms to put their paintings up as Jen goes into her room to change. Marc pours himself a stiff drink before going up to his studio to work on some songs. After a while Jen yells from downstairs, "Marc I'm leaving!! I'll be late tonight so get the kids some dinner!!"
With that she shuts the door, starts up her car and drives to rehearsals. She walks into the huge studio, two sides of the wall covered in mirrors and a lot of open space. She greets everyone before starting their warm ups.
After an hour of hard core routines Jen slumps down onto the floor out of breath, leaning against the mirror, sipping on her water.
Just before they're about to start again Jen gets a call from Marc answering it, "hey babe, what's up?"
Emme sighs on the phone, "mommy? Daddy's acting strange..."
Jen looks at her phone confused walking away from her dancers, "what? Baby what do you mean strange? What's wrong?"
Emme sniffles, "he's all wobbly...I'm scared..."
Marc quickly grabs the phone from emme as Jen says, "wobbly?? Is he hurt??"
Marc mumbles against the phone, slurring his words, "i love you mama...come home and give me some..."
Jen sighs running her fingers through her hair instantly knowing he's completely drunk.
