15 year old Lina has seen it all. She is, after all, the biggest daredevil at Lincoln High. She was walking home with her friends, just like everyday. They stopped by the corner store, just like everyday. But something was different today. Instead of the normal clerk, a strange man sat at the front desk. His eyes followed them as they looked at the chips and soda. Lina, being the daredevil walked right up to that front desk.

"May I help you," He asked.

"Why yes, Lina replied, are there any sales going on?" Her friends snickered behind her. There were never any sales.  To Lina's surprise, the man nodded and took out a bag of candy. I was clear cellophane, with different kinds of sweets inside.

"How much is it?" Lina pushed at the charade, loving her friends' reaction.

"Free,of course," the man smirked.

"I'll take it then," Lina said, and he handed her the bag.

Later that day, Lina sat on her bed, sucking on a butterscotch. Her homework was spread out on the bed in front of her, and there was a ton of it.

"I wish my teachers didn't assign homework," she muttered, and reluctantly plowed through it.

The next day, Lina sat through her first period class, Math. The bell rang for dismissal.

"No homework for tonight," Mrs. Nelson said as students filled into the hallway. Lina was ecstatic. Mrs. Nelson always assigned homework! Weirdly enough, the same happened in all of Lina's classes. She even had time to hang out with her BFF, Stacy Greenfield.

"Isn't it awesome?" Lina said after explaining that she had no homework whatsoever.

"Yea," Stacy replied," I wish my teachers were that nice!" Lina shrugged. It was probably just a coincidence, she thought, that her wish had come true. She told Stacy what had happened and showed her the bag of candy.

"Ooooh! can I have one?" Stacy asked.

"Sure, I doubt it works anyways," Lina replied.

Oh was she ever wrong.....
