Sweet Wishes

Chapter 2: Wishes do Come True.....

The next day Lina got up groggily. She panicked when she saw the time-- 8:37 am. Her alarm had failed to go off! She jumped into the shower, wrestled herself into her school clothes, grabbed an apple for breakfast, and looked at the calendar. That's when she remembered; today was Saturday. She walked back up to her room and flopped onto her bed.She remembered the candy, and how it had mysteriously come true. Weird, she thought. Maybe this called for some experimenting.... 

Lina sent the entire day wishing and eating candy. every single wish came true. By the end of the day, Lina had a trampoline, straight As, a perfectly clean room, and her little brother was quiet! She had decided not to wish for anything big, just in case  they came at a price like in Once Upon a Time, Lina's favorite T.V. show.

 Lina's Mom came home from work around 6:00 pm. She looked angry, and Lina thought that a good way to cheer her up might be showing her Lina's perfectly clean room. That seemed to cheer her up until she saw the open bag, half full of candy, on Lina's dresser. 

"You know how I feel about you bringing food up here young lady," she said, and took the bag. Oh no, Lina thought. Now she couldn't make anymore wishes. She decided to go to bed early after about an hour of pouting about the loss of her Magical candy. That was once in a lifetime! Usually never in a lifetime! Ugh, her mother could be so annoying sometimes!
