Chapter 9: Weapons and Elements

After Sparring class, the group told me we had a class called... Elements? I had literally no idea what that entitled but it sounded kind of weird? fun? whatever, walking through the school I noticed that everyone had a necklace with a certain gemstone in it, some of them were green dark and light, small and large, blue, red, purple, white pink all sorts of colours trapped in a metal spiral, connected to a small, thin black rope. some only had one some had many.

"Aliyah?"

"yeah Casey what is it?"

"what's with the necklaces" I asked obliviously

"well I guess I should let the professor explain but oh well, they are basically gemstones filled with the power of the elements, mine is fire" she pulled hers from out of the top of he shirt and summoned a small flame the same glowing colour as the crystal enclosed in her necklace. "you should get one this next lesson"

"welcome to the class today we will be putting opposite elements against each other", the whole class started to cheer, "calm down children, find someone with an element opposite to yours. New girl come with me" I followed the teacher into another store room identical to the one in the weapon building class' store room except this one was full of woven grass baskets full of different coloured stones, "pick the one that draws you most" the teacher instructed I started to climb the walls of the store room which seemed to go up forever it was a small space however it went up a lot considering that the classroom was underground, at the top I found a small basket with only one medium sized gemstone, the stone was as black as night with specks of shiny dots all over it, I decided that one would be the one I would use, I jumped down and landed on my feet. "wonderful choice dear I saw your sparring the other day and I believe that would suit you very well, you see each stone has about 2 abilitys entitling it, yours has 3. you have chosen the stone of darkness, you can project the darkness in your heart and use it as an attack, you can summon animals made of the same power of your stone and that's what everyone can do with theirs, it has one more ability which I will let you discover it yourself, its too dangerous. now you see as you kill orcs when your on the battle field you will receive a stone for each one killed but I warn you they are extremely hard to kill. goodluck" he then shoved me out the door as the bell rung, everyone then started to cheer, my best guess is schools over then something in my barin clicked as I realised that it was the start of the festival today.
