As Tate and Ava ran through the halls, they got many strange looks. Half of Ava's face was covered in ketchup, which had dried, and Tate was running, holding Ava's hand. Since Tate was on the track team, he was a lot faster than Ava was, so he was basically dragging her behind him.
As they reached the cafeteria, the grade was about to be let out to class. Ava scanned the crowd, looking for her friends. She found them and pointed so Tate could lead the two to the group. Tate started speed walking over to them.
"We need to get out of-" Ava was cut off by girls screaming. Ava's head whipped over to where the noise came from. Her mouth parted into a small 'o', and her hazel eyes grew wide. The principal was on top of a cheerleader with a plastic knife, stabbing her in the stomach.
Ava switched her focus to Tate.
"Run." And they did. Tate took off, Ava behind him. Their friends followed, not knowing what what happening, but they trusted Tate and Ava.
"What's happening?" Tana, one of her best friends, said in a panicked voice. Ava ignored the question, and started running faster. They stopped at their lockers, which all happened to be next to each other.
Ava spun the combination in, and slammed her locker open. She grabbed her backpack, and didn't bother to close the locker. She spun around and notice that they were waiting on her.
"I'll meet you guys at my house." Ava said, and her friends nodded their heads.
"I need to get my sister from her class," Jay, also one of my best friends said. "I'll see you soon." He turned around and ran toward his sister's class.
Jogging out of the school, Ava dug her car keys out of her backpack. Once she and Tana reached her Jeep, they got in, and started the car. Tate's truck was parked next to Ava's, so they both rolled down the windows.
"You lead?" Tate suggested. Ava nodded, and didn't hesitate to speed off toward her house.
"Ava, what's happening?" Tana asked as Ava stopped at a stop sign. Ava sighed.
"I don't really know." Ava admitted. "I just know that something is bad is happening." She continued driving, checking her rearview mirror every once in a while to see if Tate was still there.
Ava noticed a small spider on the dashboard.
"KILL IT!" She screeched. Tana pulled her shoe off, and smashed the spider.
"What was that all about?" Tana turned to Ava. She was shivering.
Ava explained what her and Tate had seen in the principal's office. Ava pulled into her neighborhood.
"Well," Tana said. "What do you think caused him to turn serial killer-ey?" Ava shivered again.
"I don't know but there were spider webs everywhere, so I'm going to guess spiders." Ava parked in her driveway. Tana and Ava got out of the car, waiting for the rest of their friends.
Tate parked behind Ava, and walked over to the girls. A few minutes of just standing there, Jay and his younger sister Fai pulled into the driveway.
"Lets go inside."
They walked up to the front door, and Ava got out her keys to unlock it. She started putting the key in the lock, but the door creaked open.
Then they all screamed.
