Xavier's eyes flickered open. His head span round. "What... The fuck..." He muttered as he stood up from his bed. A crunching sound emitted from under his feet instead of the dull sound of his feet hitting his bedroom carpet. Sand. Cacti. A desert. The sun beat down on him as he scanned the horizon. "What is this? Surely it's a dream... But it feels so real!!" He shouted at the sky.
Sweat ran down his face and body as he plodded away from his bed. Nothing had changed. Sand. Cacti. A desert. The only noises were the wind guiding the sand to it's new resting spot and Xavier's feet stopping this sand. No roads. No civilization. Nothing... Everything seemed the same. Everything was the same. Until a wiggly silhouette appeared out of no where on the horizon. "Thank the lord..." Xavier spluttered out as he ran to the figure.
The figure got closer... And closer... Until it was clear. A man with a cowboy hat and a poncho? Yes. A poncho. He looked dehydrated and skeleton like. "Hallo, my young friend." He shouted, a strong Mexican accent clinging to his words. "Are you lost? Yes... You are. I know you are. You like corn on the cob? Yes, you do. I know you do... Here." The poncho man held out a corn on the cob for Xavier. He hesitantly took the Corn before stepping back. "Welcome, Xavier, to my world of sand."
He was crazy. Or so he seemed crazy. "H-How do you know my name?" Xavier asked, slightly scared. "I know everything. Well... A lot of things." He chuckled and sighed. "Why are you no eating your corn? Ahhh... You are no hungry. Okay. Drop the corn." Xavier did as instructed and dropped it. "Who are... You?" He said nothing... Poncho man turned around and grinned a disturbing, toothy grin. "I am you. Future you. Welcome to your home. Our home of Desert walkers."
Xavier stepped back and frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, you cannot leave. You will be here forever. Why? Because I'm lonely."
"Wait... No... What?! I-I'm so confused... Why do you sound Mexican if you're future me?!" Future X smirked. "Because I can change how I sound, look and what happens here." He raised his hand and a giant wall of sand raised behind him. Xavier started to freak out... This was real. "What... What?! No! I don't want this! I want to go home and see my family! Ple-"
"SHUT UP!!" Future X thrust his hand forward. Sand blasted at Xavier's mouth and slid down into his lungs and stomach. Future X's eyes widened. "Oops... Too much sand eh?" He chuckled as Xavier collapsed and began to choke to death in this unreal reality. "Well us Desert Walkers do get carried away sometimes!" He laughed psychotically and disappeared with a flash, leaving Xavier's body to rot in the sand.
