*RIIIIINNNNG*

Students began to flood the halls. Now that first term was over, everyone was flooding with their summer plans. You were in A Class, so naturally you were preparing for the trip to Okinawa. This time would be different though. E Class somehow miraculously pulled off the top 50 percentile, and were joining the vacation. This made the Asano, the principal's son, pretty irritated. You noticed him walking with his friends in the hall and ran to catch up.

"Hey guys!"

"Oh, hey Y/N." Asano waved. "You didn't do half bad on your finals. I'm impressed."

"Thanks!" You replied. "But if it weren't for your tutoring, I would have been doomed.."

He just smiled.

"Anytime Y/N, anytime."

You smiled and waved goodbye, before bounding off into the crowded hallways. Asano watched until you disappeared, then continued to talk about the scores on finals.

Even in the midst of his conversation, he was thinking about you. Don't misunderstand, he had options. Pretty much every girl at Kunugigaoka Junior High is fawning over him, but he honestly didn't care. It was the fact that YOU didn't, that made him take an interest in you in the first place. After a while he approached you when you were having difficulties understanding something, and became your tutor. His move would have to be made soon, what with your cute face and hard-working spirit, other guys have begun to take notice. Okinawa seemed like the perfect place for something like this. That's where he decided that he would make his move there.

~Timeskip to Okinawa~

"Aaaah! The air here is so fresh!" You exclaimed. "I can't wait until we get to the hotel!"

"Don't get too excited Y/N." One of your friends replied smugly. "You can't even swim."

"S-So what!? I don't need to swim!"

"This is OKINAWA! Of COURSE you need to swim!"

The bus arrived at the resorts just in time.

"Who cares.." You retorted before stomping off.

Once you were settled in, your other friends decided to visit you. Well, not really 'visit'; more like talking about bathing suits.

"Y/N! Just because you can't swim doesn't mean you can't get a cute bathing suit!"

"Actually it does.."

"Come on! Don't be a stick in the mud! Don't you want some guys to notice you?"

"Not particularly."

Eventually, they convinced you to go with them to get one. You tried on many, but your friends just shook their heads each time. Until you tried on an ocean blue and purple bikini. Your friends were pretty much drooling! (And they were girls..) Once you bought it, you returned to your room to put it on.

You and a group of other girls made their way to the pool. Whistles and 'Call me's rang throughout. You found a comfortable place to sit and began reading your favorite book. However, that peace didn't last long. A group of your bullies came up to you.

"What are YOU doing here?"

"Yeah! You can't even swim!"

You tried ignoring them.

"And you look so UGLY in that suit!"

Still ignoring.

"Just like your good-for-nothing life!"

Snap.

You ran crying up to your room. Everyone started whispering, but no one stood up for you. Asano mentally cursed them and thought of what ways he could get revenge for you. He decided that he wouldn't go through with any of his plans though.

~Timeskip to MUCH later~

You waited until everyone left the pool. You hated being made fun of, so you decided to learn to swim yourself. You stood at the edge of the deep edge of the pool, thinking of how nice it would be to swim there. While you were day dreaming, your bullies came up behind you quietly and grabbed you by the hair. You snapped out of it quickly.

"Oh, look at miss sneaky!"

"Trying to learn how to swim with no one around? Nice try!"

"Hey guys.. I say we help her!"

They all snickered.

"Good idea, lets!"

Laughing, they threw you into the deep end. The water was twelve feet deep, so trying to stand wasn't an option. Thrashing and kicking, you eventually began to run out of steam. You almost got to the edge of the pool, but then one of them pushed you head under with his foot. You flailed a bit more before beginning to lose consciousness. You began to sink down and your vision went black.

The bullies were proud of their work and laughed.

"That's what you get! Go and die so we don't have to see you!"

They soon regretted those words.

Asano's room was closest to the pool, so he was curious when he heard voices past curfew. When he went to see what was going on, his expression immediately dropped. You were slowly sinking to the bottom of the pool while the other kids laughed. There was no second thought.

He jumped into the pool from the balcony he was standing on. Grabbing you, he swam to the surface and tossed you onto the ground. Before the kids could escape, Asano was already out of the water blocking their exit. Once they were incapacitated, Asano rushed to your side and tried to get you to breath again. After a few unsuccessful attempts, you coughed up the water and woke up.

"W-What the..?"

"Thank god you're okay.."

"Asano..?!"

"Shush."

He hugged you tight and picked you up, then made his way to your room. After tucking you in, you looked at him.

"Why?" You asked.

"Hm?"

"W-Why did you help me.. I mean.."

"Isn't it obvious?"

"It's because you like to help everyone right?"

"No."

"Then WHY?!"

He looked at you for a minute with an odd expression, then sighed.

"It's because I like you, Y/N. You can be so dense sometimes."

You stared at him in disbelief.

"WHAT!? How come you like me?! Of ALL the girls you could choose?!"

"Because I don't like them."

"B-But-!"

You cut yourself off when he kissed your forehead.

"Don't worry yourself over it. Get some rest, and I'll talk to you tomorrow."

Asano left the room, leaving you there alone.

"Hmph." You sighed.

"Vacation just got a whole lot more interesting."
