(Still back when we were twelve)
We were walking home because it would take longer and we would be able to talk a lot more. I was telling her about other people and how the school was basically split into two groups. "Rich people and then us." That's how I put it. I had my own group. every morning everyone would find me and where ever I went, they went.

The walk was just normal, fun in my opinion, until Maddie stops dead in her tracks. I turn around to see what's wrong and she's looking back at this old house. "I want to go in it," she says sounding very eager. "I don't know about that. It looks really creepy," I reply. "Shut up. Let's go in," she says in a playful manor.

I smile a bit and think "the things I do for love. I mean for friends!" God... Wait do I love her? No, we're not dating. How would I know if I loved her." I follow her "Maddie how did you know that today was the one day a year in willing to embrace death?" I ask sarcastically.

We look around the building for a open door but there's nothing. No open doors just a few busted Windows. "She's not crazy enough to have me push her up-" "Nick, give me a boost. I'll open a door from the inside." "I take that back she is that crazy."

I help her up and she runs around to find a door to unlock for me. Once she  unlocks it I hastily head in. Somehow the inside looked nice. The door I entered was to a kitchen that looked like it was in perfect conditions other than the one window that was broken.

We move about quietly just in case animals are inside. She gets really close to me and whispers "hold me I'm scared," and laughs. "You would want that," I say jokingly. "No," she responds quick and short.

We walk down a short hall into the living room and we find just what she was hoping for in an abandoned house. Blood. But it was a little different than what she's expected. This blood was fresh. Not old and dry. It trails to a closed door. We stand outside of it for a minute. I reach for the handle and then here glass smash. Just on the other side. Followed by the blasts breaking is a girl crying. Cries soon turn to wretched screams.

Maddie clings to my black and grey hoody and puts her head behind my shoulder. She was a lot shorter so only her eyes and up were showing. I reach for the knob and right as i grip it in the slightest the screams stop abruptly. I crack the door a but and no one is inside. I push it open and the floor is coated in fresh, dark red blood. It's an empty bedroom with hardwood floors and white walls, with red splatters all over them. Glass coats the ground. Looks like it was from a mirror. One price is coated in blood all the way down it even though it's not in the puddle.

"What the fuck?" We say together. I continue for us "how the hell is that possible! We just heard someone. Something..." A banging sound comes from the kitchen. Maddie hugs me and grips my jacket tighter than before. I walk to it and there is no signs of change.

I go back into the living room and hear footsteps in the door to the right of the room we had just been in. I open it and find stairs leading down. I enter the musty basement and it's pitch black. Maddie takes out her phone, turns on the flashlight and hands it to me. We find a pentagram made of blood and around it hanging on pipes are one mane in a suit. Over and over again. Wrists cut, eyes crying blood.

"Let's get the fuck out of here." She says. And that's when we leave.
