"A real conversation always contains an invitation. You are inviting another person to reveal herself or himself to you, to tell you who they are or what they want." -David Whyte

*Kelsey

I started to grip my hands, squeezing my hands tightly, causing my knuckles to go white.

Van and he saw me were I stood and came over to me, part of me wanted my boyfriend not to come over because my stranger was watching me. I was now breathing hard and started panicking.

Van shoo go away! Why is he not stopping? Ohh I'm not speaking out loud. Duhh! Why is my mouth not working!

"Hey Kelsey. Sorry I couldn't pick you up." he said not even acknowledging how I looked.

Plastering on a smile and blinking rapidly for a few seconds then answered "It's fine." I was lying through my teeth.

I noticed a beautiful man with onyx colored hair walking towards me out of the corner of my eye. My heartbeat sped up but my blood ran cold when a beautiful brunette walked up to him. She was way prettier than me and I instantly disliked her.

I turned my attention back towards Van, I bit my tongue just so I wouldn't grit my teeth. Smiling he finally said I looked pretty. Pretty really that's all you say. Why did I even like you.

"Look Van you said we needed to talk and we do." I said starting off our talk.

"I think we need to stop seeing each other." I said really quickly hoping the statement you have to rip a band aid off fast for less pain was right.

He stared at me and said angrily " Fine. You'll want me back soon enough." then put out his hands and pushed me into a hard kiss.

Pushing him off angrily then spoke loudly "We are through so you had no right to do that.

I quickly walked away from him towards where the boy with onyx hair was but he was gone. Then I smelled pine it was him and he was near, I tried to quiet my breathing but I don't think it worked well. Quickly turning around I ran into someone and I exclaimed my pain.

"Ow!" I was just about to start yelling at them that I was in a hurry to find someone when I looked up. "Oh" I said sounding surprised.

It was him and he had a smile on his face, his voice had an accent when he said "Madam," he bowed slightly "Scusami, I seem to be a bit clumsy tonight." It sounded Italian or French I couldn't decide, I went with French. Although I knew it was Italian.

He had grey eyes that crinkled a little when he smiled, which was so beautiful and it made my stomach flip. If he continued to talk to me I would throw up.

"Excuse me." I was even more nervous now that we were talking not just staring.

He smiled kindly at me, kicking up butterflies that tickling my stomach. Why am I so attracted to him, he's cute and all, but what is up with my butterflies. There has never been this many.

"Allow me to make it up to you, la mia bellezza," he said "May I have the pleasure of having this dance?"

"Yes bell'uomo," I said my voice fluttered up in a small, soft voice.

"You speak Italian," he said, impressed "A pleasing surprise to find someone with the same understanding of my native language."

"Oh no you are italian, so you understood me?" my face turned redder than a tomato, causing his smile to grow. "Never before have I wish to be so wrong this much in my entire life, and to answer your question yes. I minored in foreign languages."

My stomach was flipping out almost causing me to throw up multiple times.

"Shall we?" he asked, he held out his hand which I took.

His touch, his hands were so soft and if I had any doubts before now. I knew for sure that he had saved me from my crash.

"Yes we shall." I grinned at him, mocking his accent badly but he seemed to like it.

He bit his lip and looked down at his shoes, blushing and seemed taken aback. He looked like he was questioning his clothes. He had worn simple faded jeans and a dark blue button up shirt here, although he still looked hotter than Hades. His black hair was done upwards his cool grey eyes.

"So I saw you with that beautiful brunett earlier so why are you dancing with me, I'm average." I said starting the conversation. Then wishing I hadn't brought up the topic thinking for sure he would go find her leaving me alone.

He seemed to be processing the question and think about what he was going to say.

"That woman was one of the ones who treat men like me like a small child would with a new toy." he explained, as we began swaying to the music. "She would play, and play, but eventually a new one will be received and the old toy would be forgotten. Left. Abandoned. You seem genuine, and are quite frankly the most beautiful woman I think I've ever laid eyes on."

I stifled a laugh but bit both lips to make it stop. It didn't work and I bust up laughing, then blushed hard when his last words were processed

"What?" he asked confused not seeing it.

"It's just the way you described her and I'm nothing but average. I couldn't keep my boyfriend interested." I said giving him a grim look and widening my eyes to prove my point.

I knew that that wasn't true I dumped him, ironically for the man in front of me. Plus there's the fact I didn't even like Van that much.

He smiled slyly. "Is that true? Because it seems to me that you have a few pairs of eyes that have been constantly tracking your movements, caro."

I laughed at his joke then realized it wasn't one "Yeah right." I shook my head. He is just trying to cheer me up.

He removed one of his hands from my waist and slightly pushed my head, his fingertips against my cheek, if I thought I was going to throw up earlier I was for sure now. My stomach was a gymnast tonight. Everyone around me seemed to disappear and it was only us.I breathed out hard and stared into his eyes.

"By the way," he said, my eyes glued on his piercing grey eyes, "I never caught your name." he asked and I was wondering the same for my stranger.
