I'm Coming

Levi's POV

"Damn it Eren..." I mumble as I kick my heels into my horse, taking off after him. I don't care if he can turn into a titan. He can't go out in that open field by himself. His ability doesn't always work when he wants it to.

I can barely get my horse to walk down this mountain. I have no idea how he got out of sight so quick. I'll never be able to get to him in time if I keep going at this pace. I shoot out the grappling hooks from my 3DM Gear and start moving from tree to tree. This way of travelling is also safer because I could easily avoid a titan if it comes into view.

When I'm about a half a mile to the edge of the forest, I notice a section of the rear guard below so I decide to drop down to them. I just realized how stupid I was to try and use my 3DM gear the entire way. What exactly was I going to do when I reached the end of the forest without a horse? Go on foot? Exactly.

"Captain Levi? What are you doing back here?" Dieter asks, shocked.

"I need a horse." I command. Without hesitation, one is brought to me and I head off without another word. The ground is flatter since I'm at the bottom of the mountain so I can actually get up to a canter down here. I can see open ground in the distance, but I still can't see Eren. I hope to god nothing happened to him.

As I dash out into the open, I'm shocked by what I see. Eren's in his titan form and he's running full speed back home. He must be at least a mile away. Determined, I gallop out into the field to go after him.

About five miles in I see a group of titans coming straight for Eren from his front. Shit... I kick into my horse and realize I can't go any faster when nothing happens. Damn horses... and of course this group of titans have to all be in the 15 meter class.

Eren starts fighting them, making out pretty well for the first few by just punching their heads straight off. It's pretty impressive. They start to gang up on him though and begin taking bites from his arms. Shit, why can't I be there! I need to help him! At least I'm getting closer since he's fighting in one place. I can make it in time... I know I can. I'll save him.

I'm still at a full gallop and should be there in no time. It's so hard to watch him get torn apart like this. I knew that he couldn't do this alone.

I'm about to reach him when I see one of the titans take a bite right out of the back of his neck. My jaw falls open. No...

I jump off of my horse and run full speed towards the titan that just dropped the piece of Eren's flesh on the ground. I shoot my hooks into the monster and fly right up to the back of its neck. My anger comes out once I make the first slice into its skin. I lose my mind in the moment and just start cutting anywhere my blade will reach. I keep going from one to another, slicing blindly until all five titans are dead on the ground.

I immediately run over to the hunk of flesh that was torn from the back of Eren's neck and use the rest of my strength to turn it over. Eren's buried inside, covered in tendons and blood. I quickly grab my blade and cut away the strands that are covering him. Taking him out, I lay him on the ground and lean closer to him.

"Eren?" I shake his shoulder. "Eren?" He makes no movement so I start to lean down to listen to his heartbeat. Before I can put my head on his chest, I notice motion out of the corner of my eye and sit back up. I stare intently at Eren's face and after a moment, I see his eyelids flutter.

"L-Levi...?" He mumbles, still in a daze. I let out a breath a didn't know I was holding as Eren tries to sit up.

"Are you okay?" I ask with a sigh of relief.

"Y-Yeah... I'm okay..." He says as he sits up.

"Why did you run off like that?" I say, concerned.
