Mistake?

'Ava's P.O.V'

"I'm bored." Jai whined, rolling his face into the sofa cushions. 

"Me too." I sighed.

We'd been sitting watching TV for the past 2 hours and not moved once and it was currently 2pm. 

"Why don't we go to the park?" Jai asked, turning his head towards me. 

"Okay, I'll go and get changed." I flung my legs off the couch and before I stood up Jai interrupted me. 

"I'll be back in 20 minutes, I'm going home." He placed a quick kiss on my cheek and stood up.

I felt my cheeks rise with heat at his gesture and said bye to Jai as I ran upstairs. I had a quick shower and skipped over to my wardrobe. I pulled out some blue ripped knee jeans with an oversized grey sweatshirt. I applied minimal make up and I was soon ready to go. I slipped on my black vans and I heard Jai beep his car horn, signalling he was here. 

I slid my phone into my back pocket and opened my front door. I locked it behind me and walked over to Jai's car. I climbed into the car and we headed to the park. 

We finally arrived and we both hopped out of the car. Nobody was here, which was unusual.

"Race you to the swings." I shouted and began running towards the set of swings. 

I heard Jai pacing right behind me but I reached the swings before he did, sitting down on one quickly. 

"Ha, I win." I smirked, trying to catch my breath. 

"Shut up, I let you win." Jai panted, standing in front of me. 

He reached his hand out towards me and pulled me up off the swing by my hand. My eyebrows furrowed and Jai sat down on my swing and pulled me down onto his lap. 

"There's a swing there why do we have to sh-" I started until Jai put a finger on my lips.

"There's something I need to ask you." Jai said to me, looking me in the eyes. He swiftly placed a piece of my hair behind my ear and gently traced his finger down my cheek.

"What is it?" I asked him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, preventing me from falling off his lap. 

He gently started to swing us and began to speak. 

"Listen, you know I've liked you for a while now and I like you more and more every day. When we left school that day I thought that would be the last day I was ever going to see you, and I didn't want that to happen. When I realised that it was you that I slept with that night I thought maybe this is my second chance to do this the right way. Ava, to tell you the truth, I think I'm beginning to fall in love with you and I am so sorry for all of the horrible things I used to say to you." He looked down at my hand and gently grabbed it, intertwining our fingers together. I gave his hand a squeeze and he continued. 

"So what I'm trying to say is that, Ava will you be my girlfriend?" He looked me in the eye and a smile spread across my face. 

I placed my hand on his cheek and leaned forward. I connected our lips together and they moved perfectly in sync with each other. Jai's hands slid around my waist and I glided my fingers through the back of Jai's hair, pulling him closer to me. 

"Is that a yes?" Jai questioned, disconnecting our lips. 

"Yes." I whispered and Jai planted his lips onto mine again.

Jai stood up and I instantly wrapped my legs around his waist as Jai's arms held me underneath my legs, keeping me up. I broke away from the kiss and smiled at Jai. He continued to walk and I noticed we were going back to the car. We reached the car and Jai placed me back on the ground. We got into the car and Jai fired up the engine. 

"Where are we going?" I asked, turning my head towards Jai. 

"It's a surprise." He grinned, placing his hand onto my thigh. 

After a short drive we soon indicated into a McDonalds drive thru. I chuckled at his 'surprise' and looked at Jai.

"What! I'm hungry." He grinned. "What can I get you m'lady." 

"Cheeseburger, fries and a coke please Sir." I smiled to him.

"It's Mr Brooks to you not Sir."

"Sorry 'Mr Brooks'" I mocked teasingly, rolling my eyes. 

Jai ordered our food and we drove back to my house. We soon arrived back and Jai grabbed everything whilst I unlocked the door.

"The Ring?" 

"Nope." I replied.

"Chucky?" 

"Nope."

"Paranormal Activity?"

"Jai, you just keep on choosing horrors. Let me chose a film." I laughed, pinching the TV remote out of his hand.

I browsed through Netflix until I landed on 'If I Stay'. I've wanted to watch this film for a while. I clicked on it and Jai groaned at my choice. 

"Shut up and suck it in Brooks."I placed my head on his chest as Jai sat up against the couch. He grabbed the blanket next to him and placed it over us. 

The credits began to roll on the screen and I wiped a few stray tears from my cheeks.

"HOW CAN IT END LIKE THAT, IT CAN'T END LIKE THAT." I exclaimed, sitting up.

Jai chuckled at my outburst. "Hey it's just a film, I'm sure they'll make a second one." He said. 

Jai decided to stay tonight again, which wasn't an issue with me at all. We headed to bed and I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. 

I walked back into my bedroom to find Jai tucked into my bed. I picked my pyjamas up and got changed into them and climbed underneath the covers with Jai. I turned around to face him and wrapped my arm around his bare waist. Jai's arm wiggled around my back and he pulled me closer to him. 

"Goodnight baby." Jai hummed, placing a gentle kiss on my lips.

"Night." I replied.

"I love you." Jai whispered. 

My breath hitched in my throat. He loves me?
