Isaac sat on the bench, the rain pouring down on to to his dark hoodie, he looked out at the lights that cut through the dark, the lights that one brought him warmth and happiness,it now haunted him. Every memory that brought him to those lights that mocked him,he heard the faint laughter,he could smell the sweet scent of vanilla in the air ,but he knew it was nothing but a memory of the past. He stood slowly, the rain starting to soak through his thin protection.he began to make his way down a paved path forward the lights, each step bringing a new memory,a new scar of the past.
" hey Isaac! Oh wow, don't you look handsome what's the occasion?" I distant dog bark from a street over, reminded him he had neighbors.
"Why wouldn't I be dresses up? It's your first time I have to make it special!"the paved path now turned to gravel, each steep crunching under his boots.
"Oh Isaac you flatter me,it's just a movie!" Shadows danced across the lights creating a sense of joy and happiness from them.
" but it's you're first time going to them with me!" Isaac disregarded the warm sense from the lights, going numb to the cheerful music that sounded through the pounding of the rain.
" oh come on,you're such a gentleman Isaac." He stopped before the barrier that separates him from the darkness and the memories that clawed at his soul, begging to be released and to pound upon his heart.
"I sad I thought you said we were going to the movies? Why are at the bakery?" The rain drowned out the music that screamed from the lights. Isaac gave a small smile pulling out a small knife beginning to work at the lock that held the pain away from him.
"Well Isn't it good to eat before a movie so we don't scarf down our popcorn? I thought the bakery would be nice." The lock gave way beneath his grip,he gripped the golden handle slipping into the dark under the lights, the suspense that held a reader before the mystery was solved, the anticipation before thunder rumbles across the sky. The calm before the storm.
"Don't you work here Isaac? I always wanted to see how you make such good treats so I guess this better than the movies." Isaac took each step, each one bring the music and the lights closer. He stopped before the stair that lead upwards,up to the truth and pain,up to where the sin is exposed
"Well now you can see the magic of a bakery!" Isaac watched as the light danced across the wall shadows moving across the light, the music bouncing each step to Isaac as he stood at the foot of the truth.
"Isaac the bakery kitchen looks so cool! Wow,what's that over there?" Isaac began his climb to the lights, leaving each stair as it was, silent and untouched. The music growing louder and louder as it called out to him.
"Oh this? Oh this is nothing, what you really want to see is where we keep the secret ingredients."at the top of the climax, where the truth would be ready to show itself to the reader the seconds counting down to the roll of thunder.
"Oh really, what's the secret ingredient to making cupcakes?"Isaac placed a silent hand on the frame, the lights showing him in the truth that covered his hoodie, jeans and face. His eyes tracing the picture in front of him.
"It wouldn't be a secret if I told you, but if you wear this then maybe you can guess it?" Isaac dropped his hand to his side wear the stained cloth spilled out his pocket. He gripped it in both hands stepping into the room.
"A blindfold? Really that's so cliche Isaac, but I'll humor you." She sat the music surrounding her in lies and a false security, the light that cats upon her did nothing to hide her.
"Okay, tell me what you taste?" Isaac watched as her silent screams filled the rooms, unable to let the truth be heard, unable to let the sin be washed, unable to hide it now.
"It's..warm..has a strange texture and...taste metallic?" The truth now spilled upon his clothes, the walls and everything. Isaac smiled seeing the truth had been told and seen, but there was more to do more to revel from the sin that lies limp before him.
"Isaac...what is this? I don't like this...Isaac?" The truth followed him as he carried the sin. The sin that lazily hung from his arms, unmoving unspeaking and in able to plead for its revival.
"Isaac, please answer me, I don't want to do this anymore." The truth now, slid down the smooth untouched metal, leaving its memory upon it. Isaac scrunched his nose up in disapproval, this was the worse part of ridding the world of sins.
"Isaac....please answer,I'm scared..are you even there anymore?" He pushed forward, the truth allowing the sin to move with ease across the metallic surface. Leaving its trails behind as a reminder that it had once lived.
"You want to know the ingredient?" The sin was gone within seconds, the only thing to prove it had existed was the lies that laid upon the table. Isaac dipped his finger in the the mixture bring up his finger to his lips tasting it.
"Yes! Isaac what was that? I don't like it it makes me feel wrong." Isaac smiled softly, it was almost perfect, just a little vanilla and surgery to make it better.
"It's was the truth.." Isaac sprinkled a little sugar into the mixture completing the mixture.
"Truth? Isaac what do you mean by that?" Again Isaac placed a finger in the mixture tasting it again.
"Take a look.for yourself."
"Isaac Is this a joke? What is this on the spoon!"
"The truth, the truth you made the week before I came back.."
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"Don't lie..you know what I mean..."
"..Isaac..st-stop..this is scaring me!"
"Good..it makes it all more enjoyable."
Isaac smiled pulling the finger away.
"Perfect."
