BANANA: Oops! Sorry Lace! Didn't mean to send that screenshot to everyone! But we should all talk through group text so we're not overheard by that gender-neutral voice from the loudspeaker!! I think it's Mr. Kevin! He must be the hacker! I left Mr. Kevin out of this text.

CRUSH: Great idea.

MR. KEVIN: omg. I've never been on a group text before! Am I doing it right? Lolololol

MR. KEVIN: Wait??? You think I'm the hacker?!?! Lol

BANANA: Dangit I can't help but be inclusive even when I don't want to be. Starting a new group text. Sorry Mr. K

MR. KEVIN: omg sad face.

LACE: Banana, I think that Mr. K's obsession with stalking his wife online automatically eliminates him from hacker tally.

MR. KEVIN: Thank you, Lace. Excuse me, but I have to go check her email now.

MARMIE: Her email???

MR. KEVIN: What? You think I didn't copy all her passwords the moment we married?

JIM: And people think I'm crazy...

CRUSH: Focus, guys!!! Jim, you said you know how to stop Freak Week.

JIM: Yeah, I'll tell you more when we meet up. It's pretty complicated and pretty dangerous, but just know that global warming isn't behind any of it. They just told us that.

LACE: Who told us?

MARMIE: Where are you guys?

HARRY: Lace and me are tied to the basketball hoop. I think we have to wait until..akaj;aldsg/

LACE: ow

BANANA: Yay! 4 days down, 3 to go!

CRUSH: Ok. Day 5 should start any minute now. Get back to Mr. K's classroom immediately!

Suddenly a notification popped up on Crush's phone: "Less than 5% of battery remaining". Crush quickly glanced at the upper corner: 3% left. Silently, he cursed himself for the multiple selfies he had taken while floating earlier that day. But his hair had looked soooo good! He turned off his phone. He needed to find a charger and fast. Things would not go well if his phone died. Hurriedly, he made his way through the hallway. It was a disheveled mess. Desks, chairs, and half-eaten lunches were strewn helter-skelter were they had fallen when gravity had returned.

Dodging a trash can, Crush skipped over a bookshelf and turned the corner. It was empty except for the disarray of miscellaneous items scattered hither and thither. Suddenly, Crush stopped in shock. He knew what felt wrong about this particular freak week. It wasn't the fact that they were trapped in the school. It wasn't because it had come a week early. It wasn't even because Lace's brother claimed he knew how to end freak week, and because an anonymous 'voice' was doing its best to thwart them. Crush paused and looked around him. Nothing. He kicked open the door to a classroom and peered inside. Nothing. He went to the window and looked outside. Nothing.

That was what worried him. They were alone. They hadn't seen anyone else since freak week started. They entire school was abandoned except for them. Crush quickly drew out his phone to text what he had discovered. It was dead. Gritting his teeth in rage, he put it in his pocket and sprinted towards the classroom.

LACE: Everyone here?

BANANA: Yup!

MARMIE: I wish I wasn't.

HARRY: hi

MR. KEVIN: All present and accounted for.

LACE: my phone is dead so im using lace's --Crush
