School :\

You stare at the clock. It feels like it's been ten minutes until lunchtime for an hour now. The hand ticks and you feel like you can hear it echo. English is the worst. Not because the subject is any worse than maths or science, but because none of your friends are in this class. School is the worst without anyone to get distracted with.

You shift your attention and glance lazily around the room at the younger years' artwork and the other students trying to focus. The desks are arranged in two nested Us lining the classroom and facing inwards to where your teacher is going on about how the blue curtains mean the protagonist is deeply sorrowed (but you're pretty sure you saw a meme about this and they're actually just blue cause why not). So you're sitting at the desk closest to the door so when the bell rings you can get out of here ASAP.

Your teacher continues on about language techniques like alliteration and smileys and metaphors and diction, the list goes on. You're trying to absorb it through simply being in the same room as the knowledge without actually listening properly and so far it's not going so well. You glance back up at the clock, still nine minutes until you can leave. You feel your head almost loll onto the desk and you snap into an alert state for a few seconds before resting your head back on your hand. You can't wait to go home and just watch some Jacksepticeye. 'He has been on a weird unannounced hiatus for a while though.' You think to yourself, getting distracted again.

After another minute of staring around at nothing, you're startled by a loud siren. You realize it's the lockdown siren. Everyone looks around at each other for a few moments and you glace at the teacher. Their brow is furrowed, looking at the speaker the siren is coming from. Students are starting to get under their desks and chatter amongst each other.

"This is not a planned lockdown so everyone under their desks." your teacher informs you.

"Y/N please lock the door, and everyone keep quiet and out of sight." They glance at the noisiest students who quieten down.

You sigh, 'hopefuly it's just a drill the teachers didn't know about' you think to yourself locking the door and sitting under your desk. 'At least I don't have to worry about not listening to the teacher anymore, though chances are it'll cut into lunchtime for a bit'.

The siren keeps whirring, but there isn't much sound other than that. You strain your ears, trying to figure out if it's a surprise drill or if someone is actually in the school. You think you can hear footsteps. They sound like they're moving quite fast, but they aren't very loud. Maybe someone got caught between the bathroom and their class and now they're locked out and trying to hide somewhere.

The footsteps get louder, you can tell they're getting closer but they aren't very heavy. Suddenly you hear a quiet panicked knock a few doors down. Then it's quiet for a while. Then it happens again but closer, on the classroom next door probably. Then quiet, as per protocol no one is letting them in. 'They should probably hide in the toilets' you think to yourself, concerned for them. 'Though they're probably not actually that safe, even though they can lock, anyone could just climb over the door' you ponder what you would do for a moment before you see a fearful face appear in the small door window, just visible from where you are sitting.

You hear the quick soft knock, and terror-stricken blue eyes meet yours for a brief second. You realize you're probably not in the safest place as anyone outside can actually see you. You start to shuffle towards the wall before you stop and look at the face again. 'wait is that?' 'no, it can't be' 'Jacksepticeye?'
