Chapter 2
I groaned under my breath as I collected my sociology assignment from the teacher. It’s the third one we’ve had in the last two weeks. Honestly, I was tired as shit of college already and it was only the first year. Thank God thanksgiving is only a few weeks away and after thanksgiving, there’s Christmas.
And with Christmas, I could get all the pussy I needed without having to worry about unfinished assignments. I was happy Sociology was my last class because I was more than ready to get the hell out of that school. Just as I got out to the parking lot, my cellphone rang.
“Hello?”
“Hey Sacha can you pick Dylan up from school today?” I rolled my eyes at my dad’s voice on the other line.
“I asked you earlier if you needed me to and you said no. What changed?”
“I’m taking Emma out, show her around the city then have dinner with my parents.” I frowned. Was he serious right now? How disrespectful would it be to my mother that he was going around telling everyone about his engagement but he hadn’t had the decency to tell my mother or maybe introduce her to his so called fiancé?
“Okay, whatever Tom.” I hung up and got into my car, pulling out of the parking lot and onto the highway. It was only 11am though and Dyl still had 4 hours left of school. My plan right now was to go to Hannah’s apartment and sleep until it was time to go get him.
I literally couldn’t keep my eyes opened in my classes this morning because I spent all night at this brunette’s house. As good as she was, she didn’t get my mind off Emma at all. My number one priority was trying not to fuck my dad’s fiancé. I haven’t really spoken to her much since that day when she basically told me she heard when I was fucking Shannon or whatever her name was.
Hannah still had two more classes so she wasn’t at home yet. I the key her mother gave me for the apartment and made my way inside. There was no one here—as expected—her mother was probably at work or something. Wherever she was, I was happy for the little peace and quiet so I could sleep.

I dunno how long I’d been asleep for but the banging of pots in the kitchen woke me up. Groaning, I rolled off of Hannah’s bed and made my way to the kitchen. Ms. Mercer was moving around cooking up a storm.
“Well hello there.” She said when she noticed me.
“Where’s Hannah?”
“She’s at work. Have you forgotten she’s actually trying to make a living—unlike you?” I rolled my eyes at her. She was always trying to tell me what to do; I don’t blame her though because she’s been like a mother to me.
“I’m gonna get a job Melissa…eventually.” She huffed and tossed the onions into the pot.
“Mhm,” before I could respond my cell phone rang.
I whipped the iPhone out and answered, “Hello?”
“Sacha, I need you to come get me.” It was Dylan’s voice.
“Why? School doesn’t end for—two hours.” I said glancing at my watch.
“Something happened,” he groaned and I knew that he was probably rolling his eyes.
I hung up the phone and quickly left the apartment. While in my car, a million and one things ran through my head. I didn’t know what the hell was going on but it had to be serious for Dylan to call me instead of Mom or Dad. When I got to the school, I didn’t even bother parking properly. Dylan was already standing outside on the steps waiting. He was making his way to the car but I got out and met him halfway.
