I slowly open my eyes and find myself inside a room. I glance at the clock beside my bed and says: 7:00 A.M.
I quickly realize that I am back in the real world and am inside my bedroom.
I stand up and my door flies open to reveal a woman.
I am met with her yelling," Amanda, you are going to be late for school if you do not get ready soon and eat the breakfast I made!"
I sighed and said," Yeah, mom."
I quickly embraced her and kept sniffing her scent to see if I am not dreaming and that I am still alive, well, "technically alive."
"I am so glad to see you, mom."
She gives me a confused look that clearly says that I am going coo-coo," Uh, okay. Well, honey, you should go downstairs so you can leave for school in 20 minutes. She then leaves. I guess it's your typical everyday mom.
It hits me. I can still go to school and meet up with my friends. Now that I think about it, was that whole thing a dream when Grant said I had to make them remember me. I glance down at my wrist and I am met with a watch that looks exactly like the one in my dream. Guess, it wasn't a dream after all.
It reads: 365 days, 40 minutes, and 30 seconds. It is still counting down, which means that I am wasting the amount of time to complete my task.
I quickly got dressed and brushed my teeth to get ready for the day. I go downstairs and eat my breakfast as I slowly sink in the realization that my my friends wouldn't even recognize me, so that makes my even more difficult since I would have to make them remember me without saying the magic words," you are dead."
This gives me the shivers that if I don't accomplish this, I would have to live in peace in the heavens, and I don't want to live the rest of my life knowing that it was all for naught. I gulped down my food as I finish my thoughts, then headed to my school.
GreenHill Springs Middle School.
*At School*
"Oh no! I'm going to be late for school if I don't hurry!"
Mom was right! I totally should've listened to her instead of being distracted in my thoughts, and now I am going to be late for school.
I ran to the front of the gates, but as soon as I get there, the gates were about to be closed.
"Wait, don't close the gates on me." I desperately yelled.
I was instantly sprinting to get to school before the gates closed. And I immediately go to the other side, barely. And I didn't notice that i was still running, until I ran into something. Or rather a someone.
I collided with someone and I fell down with a growing throbbing sensation in my head. Man, my head hurts a lot, and I want to punch that person really badly for getting me a bad headache in the morning.
Of course that thought was erased when I was face-to-face with the guy that I bumped into. He extended his hand, and smiled at me real warmly, that I forgot why I was mad in the first place.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for bumping into you! I should've have not gotten in your way, and looked where I was going." He apologized.
"Oh, it was my fault for running to school late! You do not need to apologize!" I said.
"Say, do I know you somewhere. You seem familiar, but I can't remember ever meeting you?" He questioned.
When I was gazing at him, it hits me.
Of course I know him! His name is Mason Kellin. Both of us have met before. He was my boyfriend before I died the first time. If I can get him to remember me, then I can stay in this world, and spend time with him instead of leaving this world without him. It pains me to have the thought of leaving everyone I care about including Mason if I failed and leave this world. Just gotta make at least Mason to have memories of me to complete my task.
I answered," Yes, we have met before. My name is Amanda Locke, and both of us knew each other a couple of months ago."
He gives me a weird look and said," Well, I still don't remember you."
Ouch, that statement gives me a feeling of needles attacking me in my chest as my heart is shattered from learning that he doesn't know me anymore. Guess, it was true when Grant said that my friends, and even my boyfriend, doesn't have any memories of me.
"But, I will try to remember if I do know you. My mind is mysteriously fuzzy when I try to think. Anyway, it's nice to meet you!" He grins.
I smile back as I feel a warm feeling in my heart. That grin of his along with his friendly attitude is the reason why I liked him so much, and I know that someway or somehow, I will make him remember. I just have to spend time with him to get him to remember me. I know that I can do this at least.
All of a sudden, I hear a loud, "Rinnnnnnnnng" Uh oh, that was the school bell. Oh crap, I'm gonna be late for my first class.
"Well, I better get going to my class. By the way I have homeroom with Mr. Callen. What's yours?" He asks.
I give him a smile and said," I also have the same homeroom class as you do. Now c'mon, let's run there together." I said.
Mason and I run there together to go to homeroom, but we still got lectured by Mr. Callen for being late for homeroom not to mention for running in the hallways. Even though it was a minute late.

*In Homeroom*
Mason and I got to our seats after a thorough lectures from Mr. Callen. Both of us grinned at each other as we went down in our assigned seats. Surprisingly, Mason and I have our seats next to each other, so that was a bonus for me.
After homeroom, we went on to our next class. Sadly, he has math while I have chemistry class. I sat down in my seat while our teacher is getting ready to explain the experiment we are about to do.
"Okay, class. We are going to do a tricky experiment. That's why, you kids need to get in groups of three to get it done. Make sure to choose wisely and to focus on your work. If there is any slackers in this class, then I will gladly escort you to a place after school called "Detention." My teacher told us with a stern and strict expression.
All of us had shivers running down our backs as he said the last part. Detention was totally not on my agenda and everyone else's. I mean, I just got back from the dead, and I want to keep living, but not with detention along the way.
After explaining the instructions of which chemicals should we carefully mix, he quickly shooed us off so, we can get into groups of three. In two minutes, I was really the only one who didn't get into a group while everyone is. I guess when no one really remembers you, then you would be a nobody all over again.
But then I spotted hope to my problem. I saw two girls, and it looks like they needed a third person in their group. They quickly spotted me and waved at me to join them. As I went to their table, I realized who they are.
They were my best friends.
Amy and Jessica.
