Chapter 4
Isaac's P.O.V
All I could think about was him. Max. He was beautiful, for a man at least.
"Isaac?"
"Hmm?" I turned to see Haven giving me a look.
"Sorry." I muttered. We were in McDonald's, munching on fries trying to clear our minds.
"It's fine. God, we are a mess."
"Over boys."
"Boys we barely know."
"A boy I've never talked to."
"I think you win." Haven said laughing.
"You HAVE to be kidding me!" Haven said banging her head off the table.
"What?" I asked dumbfounded.
"Turn around."
I turned around, and I saw him. He looked over at the same time, and our eyes met, and once again all I wanted was him. I didn't even notice he was walking towards us until he was in front of me.
"Hi."
His voice, oh his voice. It made me want to jump him then and there.
He leaned in and whispered in my ear "I'd calm those thoughts of those if I were you, unless you want to make them reality. But we're in public, so I don't think that would be a good idea."
I shivered and tried to calm them down.
"I'm Max. And I heard you are Isaac." Max said smiling.
"I am."
I just noticed that there was a man with him, who I recognized as Mr. Parker.
"Haven." Mr. Parker said.
"Parker." Haven replied bitterly.
"Can we talk privately?" Max asked. Haven looked over at me, and I looked at Max and then back at her and nodded.
"Sure."
They moved over to a different booth, leaving me and Max alone.
He slid in across from me, his knees brushed mine and I had to hold a groan in, I could just feel warmth I didn't want to lose.
"So... How old are you?" I asked.
"20, you?" He grinned.
"17, turning 18 next month."
"Ahh, still a baby." He teased.
"Oh no. Definitely no."
"You know. I really like you. As creepy as that may be." He said smiling at me and leaning across the table.
"Oh really, well that is creepy." I joked.
His face fell for a minute, before noticing I was joking.
"Can we go for a walk?"
"I guess so."
We walked for a while until we stopped in a deserted park, and sat on a bench.
"I don't know if this is too soon to tell you, but I want to tell you. Please don't freak out." He said, turning to face me with a concerned look on his face.
"I'm a werewolf. So is Levi."
"Who's Levi?"
"Mr. Parker."
"Oh." I didn't even know what to say or think. Or even to believe him. Just my luck, the first cute guy to show me interest is a nut job. I inched away from him a bit, and he seemed to notice because he frowned.
"Don't do that. I know you don't believe me." He snapped, "Would you believe me if I told you you're my mate? My soul mate, my other half?"
"How the hell do you expect me to believe you, a werewolf, seriously? That's ridiculous. Soul mates? Yeah sure buddy. Leave me alone."
I got up, and walked away. Leaving him behind me, feeling like I just lost a piece of me.
Haven's P.O.V
We left them alone to talk. I didn't want to be alone with Parker, but I did. For Isaac.
"So it seems like our friends like each other."
"I guess so."
"It looks like we will be seeing each other a lot more now."
"Don't get too excited. I don't think so."
"Ouch." I just laughed at that. He thinks he's hurt? Right.
He saw my expression and looked down with a guilty look.
"Well, looks like their gone."
I turned to see their booth across the room was empty.
"Shit." I murmured.
"I think I know what he's doing. I should probably do the same thing. Can we go for a walk?" he asked standing up, offering me his hand. I just looked at it and stood up.
"Where are we going?"
I followed him out the door, only to see an upset looking Isaac walking towards me. I stopped following Mr. Parker, and started walking towards Isaac.
"Hey." It didn't come out of Isaac's mouth; I turned around to see Mr. Parker frowning at me.
"I'll talk to you later. He needs me." With that I turned around and walked up to Isaac.
"We need to leave." He said, reaching out his hand for me to take. I took it, looking at him weirdly. He pulled me down towards the parking lot and we got in his black Mazda Speed 3. I am in love with his car.
"What happened?" I asked cautiously as we drove off in a random direction.
"He's a fucking psychopath! He thinks he's a friggin werewolf!"
"What?" I asked stunned.
"You heard me. He claimed he was a werewolf and that I was his 'soul mate'!" he yelled, and pulled over in front of a Starbucks, and turned to face me.
"Soul mates and werewolves? What kind of joke is that supposed to be."
"I don't know but--" he was suddenly interrupted by frantic knocking on his window. I looked past him to see Max, and Mr. Parker standing not too far behind him.
"What? Did they follow us?!" he yelled. We both continued to just stare at them both, Max still knocking on the window.
"Wait... Isaac is your door locked?" I asked, my eyes widening. It was like Max could hear us, because suddenly he opened the door.
"We need to talk." Both Mr. Parker and Max growled.
"Fine." I said, before Isaac could argue with him. Isaac looked at me and scowled, but got out of the car pushing Max out of his way.
