After leaving the small clinic for my annual check up and receiving all the test, your boy came out clean. Now don't get me wrong I wasn't a hoe, but the way my ex was set up there was no telling what she had. To this day some of the things she did I couldn't even begin to speak of. To the people around me I was fine always smiling, you know the people pleaser. But when I'm alone the harsh reality of being an alcoholic sets in. Although I'm sober as far as all drugs and can't even imagine doing drugs seeing as what they did to my moms. Till this day the image of my moms pale skin and lifeless hair scars my memory. Driving along the road lost in my own thoughts while listening to yea I know I was awoken by the sound of car horns. Deciding to be petty I sat there not moving my car. They had me fucked up if they thought they was gone get a reaction out of me. As the light turned yellow I decided to go leaving them all there. Laughing to myself I thought what should I eat for dinner. When I finally decided I pulled up at wingstop. As I walked in I received a few head nods and glares from the local thots. I was well known in my city given my career and me growing up around here. I ordered my food waiting on my number to be called. While waiting I saw the same nurse walk in going straight to the counter not noticing me. Which agitated me like damn either she was really hungry or she just wasn't feeling me. After ordering she walked in my direction stopping in her tracks. Being able to read her body language I could tell she was debating on coming over to speak with me. Taking a sip of my Sprite I looked at my watch as too seeing how long it would take her to stop playing. When I looked up she was seated across from me. Looking down shyly. Bold and beautiful I thought to myself.
"Wassup Ainsley right?" I asked sort of questioning.
"Yes Brandon." She laughed pushing her hair out of her face. I just sat there and mugged her being that I didn't find anything funny.
" Can you not refer to me like that I told you already I don't like that name." Seeing her frown I sighed. " Look I'm sorry can you just call me bibby?" I said trying to be sympathetic.
" Okay bibby can I ask you a ques-"
" No." I said before she could even finish her sentence. I already knew what she was going to say, and personally I didn't see her as anything so it was no point in me confiding in her.
" Well that's my number I'll just go." She said standing up. In one swift motion I had her hand and spun her around so that she was facing me. At this point I was unaware of what I was doing, but it was something about her I liked.
" Look ma I'm sorry for being rude you don't have to leave I could use some company anyway." I shrug only to see her eyes light up. She ran off to get her food and so did I. They didn't call my number, but seeing as she got there after I did I was trying to see what was up. As soon as I got there my number was called. I grabbed my food and went back to the table. I laughed seeing Ainsley was not trying to impress me at all. She had sauce on her mouth and ranch on her fingers. I sat my tray down and she quickly wiped her mouth and fingers.
"Sorry about that I just haven't eaten all day being that I've been at work since 3." I frowned looking at my watch seeing as it was 2:30.
" Ma that's an 11 hour shift you can't do that shit and not eat." I didn't even know the girl but something was telling me she needed me. She was going through something too, but was putting up a front. I started to eat my food as we sat in silence. It was awkward to me because my mind started racing. I started to think about my child hood. I excused myself quickly going into the bathroom. I pulled out my wallet taking out my anxiety pills. I popped three in my mouth hoping it would calm down my thoughts. I walked out throwing my food away no longer having an appetite. I started to walk out before hearing her soft voice call out.
" Hey wait! I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me tomorrow night. We'll be just going as friends. I mean unless you'd like it to be a date or um I don't know say something you're making me nervous." She said out of breath. I took a deep breath feeling my medicine kick in, I chuckled lightly.
" Ma you think too much just do it. All you had to say was would you like to go out Friday?" I said licking my lips before speaking again. "But to answer your question no." I said before seeing her look down in defeat I laughed slightly seeing the frown on her face. " I'll pick you up Friday at 7." I said walking off making a mental note to call up to her job and get her personal number. I mumbled a few words before turning on my radio. "Today was a good day." I said smiling.
