You glanced around at the corrupted city beyond you. Smoke filled the air as you now realized it wasn't an indication for mornings come, but just the smoky interface of the darkened sky. Houses, broken or on fire, barely stood in front of you, you had to rub your eyes to make sure it was reality. You looked up and down the street before a police car spun around the corner, their tires leaving rubber marks as they stopped. One of them shouted "Thats them! Catch them immediately!!!" your eyes widened and your stance became shriveled. You sprinted off into the forest behind you, you did't turn back but you heard the police car roar to life and make a loud screeching noise as they raced down the street to catch you. You went through the same process once more, over the stream, hurdle across the rocks, stumble over that one branch that always managed to get in your way. You raced through the rubbish in a hurry, as not to be caught. You had no idea what they wanted though, as you hadn't done anything except attempt desperately to stop whatever was happening to the world. Your hair pulled you back as it got caught in a branch. You heard the voices of the policemen beyond you as they split out amongst the trees. You pulled at your hair needlessly, but it just intertwined with the thorny branches and dead leaves. One of them spotted you. "Hey I found her! Over here!". You went into a panic, tugging desperately at you hair, it hurt so much but it would be nothing to a bullet to the head. A tear ran down your cheek as you finally broke loose, the people now firing aim at you. You pulled though the trees, a bullet hitting one and a cascade of bark exploding inches behind you. The dead creaking of the tree alarmed you as you continued to sprint through the underbrush. The tree toppled to the floor next to you. You stopped a moment to look before continuing the chase.
You stopped dead in your tracks as you arrived at the cold frigid wintery wonderland. You began to shiver just by looking at it. Oh how you hated the cold. The very thought of dropping helplessly into mother natures terrible substance and loosing the ability to move. For all of your limbs to turn black and shrivel away. It was such a horrible thought to die in such a condition. Almost as bad as drowning. Maybe worse? You took one long breathe before carrying on into the cold, the voices of the many men keeping you moving, the urge to save Papyrus from the horrible thing condemning the world. 'I won't allow something to happen to him now that his brother is already gone.' you thought sadly, the frozen like tear streaming once more from you eyes.
You shivered through the cold landscape, the horizon a jagged line that escaped into the fog beneath you. You trembled once more, falling at the doorstep of the house. You'd been searching for so long, it was such a relief to finally find it, but you weren't sure you'd even make it inside. The smokey fog covered the realm beneath you like a blanket, it pushed you into a dimension of cold and darkness, in which one house stood among nothing else in the dim light of the full moon, gazing among the never-ending horizon of grey, moving under the cascade of millions of scattered stars. It was beautiful, such a pleasant sight to die with, but you couldn't die now. You had so much left to do. You pulled yourself up, turning towards the door. You looked behind you one last time, fearing you may never see such a marvelous sight again. You sighed before proceeding with the task at hand. You reached out with shaky fingers and gripped the doorknob. It was almost as cold as the hand of the skeleton you'd lost not so long ago. It made you sad the way it almost matched that perfect climate that reminded you of too many peaceful memories, and one too many bad ones. You stood there a moment, staring at the doorknob, thinking of the short life you'd carried out up to know. The crazy adventures you'd encountered. The fun you'd had. The friends you'd made. The friends you'd lost. You sighed with a hesitant tug on the doorknob. You twisted it slowly, as not to disturb the scaredy skeleton awaiting inside. You moved slowly forward to push the door open, but the slightest movement slung the door open with a cuffing kind of noise. It was freezing inside. The power must have gone out or something because it was dark, and cold. You quickly noticed something had already been here. You gasped as you realized you could already be too late. The roof caved in around the back, snow was forming in a pile where the ceiling had opened and the frigid air breezed around in the lifeless room. You walked in with yet another shiver and you quickly pulled you hand up around your elbows and rubbed them lightly. You slipped and hit the small desk accompanying the television, it collided with your hip and the t.v. clashed onto you. You cringed, biting your lip. You moved the television off of yourself and regained your balance. You walked through much more carefully now, as you really didn't want to slip again. You looked up the staircase before glancing over at the couch. You wanted to feel happy seeing it now, but you could only gasp in shock once you saw Papyrus' bright red scarf hanging off it's side, a few specs of dust cluttered around it. 'no no no no NO!' you thought in despair. You pulled the scarf around your neck swiftly before racing up the stairs, stumbling once but you were far too determined to stop and pull yourself together. You tugged on the doorknob to Papyrus' room, it yanked open, almost pulling off it hinges from the force you'd given into in order to enter. "Papyrus?" you called looking all over his room. "P-Papyrus!!!" You called once more. Without a response you fell to the floor in tears. "W-who are you?" the voice brought such joy and happiness, you spun around to see Papyrus emerge from his closet. You smiled so big you thought your face might rip in half. You ran up and hugged him. He didn't move at first, but after a while he slowly pulled his hands around you. "Human, who are you?" he tilted his head. You looked up at him with a bleak smile, tears streaming down your face again. "(Y/n)." you sighed. "Do you know where my brother is?" You frowned at his question. "Well.......yes." this was going to be hard to explain.
