She laughed bitterly as she set down her coffee cup. "Infinity's a relative term. It only means as much as people are willing to let it. They say 'always' but love never lasts. 'I'll never do it again' but two weeks later, we find a way to rationalize the fact that, once we realized it, we gave up on our only hope before it could save us."
He couldn't say anything for a few moments, and they both sighed in their brokenness and gazed out the shop window into the downpour, somehow no longer in the mood for coffee.
