A Player's Game - ch. 1

Kai's POV. (Later In Class)

I'm so happy Mr. Evans didnt ask me any questions. I was already in rage & embarrassed. I heard Diane whisper something to me a minute ago, But I didn't respond. My eyes were still closed, Mÿ head was still down, & my hood was still over my head. I planned on staying the whole day, or week.

I mean why not, I have the showers in the locker room, washer & dryer, & food from cafeteria. Psych, But anyway, Luckily this class was at the end of the day. And once the bell ends, Im gone.

It lifted my forehead and eyes over my crossed arms to look at the clock. 2:44. The bell was going to ring in a minute! After that, I regretted looking. Mr. Evans was looking at me.

"Miss. Johansson, Would you answer the question?" He asked casually, Like nothing happened. But I kept my head down. "Idk the answer." I said loudly since my head was still down. "Okay; Mr. Thomas?" I sighed of relief. That was easy.

"48." He guessed. "No, But close. Diane?" "50." "Correct!" I heard him say. I could tell by the annoyance in their voices, They were ready to bounce. I was too.

Finally, The bell rung. Before Mr. Evans could get a word out of his mouth I ran to the door, opened it, and ran out as fast as I could. I don't think Im going to be able to show my face again...

Dominic's POV. (Bell Rings)

I was just about to leave when I felt a cool breeze blow on me. I looked and saw Nakai running out the door. Damn, She must really be embarrassed. I don't know what came over me, But I ran after her 20 seconds later.

"Hey Nakai, WAIT!" I yelled. Then I realized I made a mistake, Because she ran faster. Damn this girl could run. Then Diane was running right beside me after her. "Kaaaai!" She yelled. We got through the main doors. She was out of sight then. I sighed from breathing hard and sat on a step.

"Was she that embarrassed?" I asked myself. But I heard Diane's voice again. "No she's not. She's just really shy & she doesn't like to talk much around you." She explained to me.

"Me? Why me?" I asked. "Were you even listening in class you deaf ass?!" She yelled. "She likes you dummy." She added. I smiled. "I'm surprised your not saying 'okay' or 'I know'." Diane said. "Why?" "Because every girl likes you. So why you smiling all of a sudden?" She asked.

"Because for once, An attractive girl likes me." I said chuckling. "And a good one too. She knows everything about you. Not that she's a stalker or anything. Also, She just doesn't like you for your looks." I sat & thought about this girl. "That's the best thing. Usually those girls in there only like me because of my looks and me being athletic." I said pointing back inside the school.

"Only thing I can say to that is.... Don't take advantage of anything if you try." She said walking away. What did she mean by that?

Kai's POV.

OMG! He tried to talk to me. Lord knows I would've froze up in his face or probably not even say anything to him. He'd think I was stuck-up or something and walk away then hate me.. But I ran & got my car and sped off before he could catch me.

As I was driving home, my phone began to ring. I picked it up without looking at the caller ID. "Hello?" "Hey Kai. Why'd you run away?" "He tried to talk to me!" I said putting it on speaker phone. "Yeah but why didn't you at least try to talk to him" "Diane. We've been over this a million times", I began sighing. "I'm scared I might freeze up on him and he'll think I'm stuck up & turn me down."

"Honey, Things would've went well. And if you try to talk to him it will." "That's IF I talk to him, Now he knows what I think about every night, every morning, 24/7!" I yelled into the phone pulling off on the highway and putting it on speakerphone. I heard her sigh & some ruffling.

"Well there always you ex Langston from the 9th grade." I smiled knowing how sweet & caring he was, But yet a jealous jerk. My smile faded as Dominic ran through my mind. "But I love Dominic." "Love?" "Yes Diane..." I said quietly. "Kai, Are you sure?" "Omg! Yes! I want him, I need him, I crave him!!" She laughed through the phone. "Okay then... I just don't want you to get hurt..." "What do you mean? We haven't even talk yet.." I said. "Yeah but WE did." My eyes almost popped out of my head. "DIANE!! What did you say?" "Uhhhh, Love ya best friend gtg." She said very fast then hung up.

I groaned and thought about what I should do to cover up what Diane said to Dominic yesterday, Even if I don't know, I gotta feeling she said a little bit of too much.
