Lip gloss check. Powder check. Mascara check. Yup, I'm so ready for school alright. But why do I feel as if I've forgotten something? That's it! School stuffs! How silly of me- I can't go to school without my school books could I? Now where are my books? I head to my drawer to get my history textbook when my bedroom door creaked and Gabriella's, my housekeeper, head popped in.
"Miss Amelia, may I enter? Mrs Leonardo told me to pick up your laundry. " Gabriella asked almost sounding afraid to even speak.
"Yes, you may Gab. All the clothes that needed washing are under my bed."I told her while still rummaging through my drawer. Where the hell is my history textbook? I swear, once I become the first female president of America, I'm so going to cancel history lessons for every student. I mean who cares about the dead people right? People would thank me for this one day.
"Are you looking for something Miss Amelia?" Gab said.
"Yeah, my history textbook. Have you seen it? It's orange in colour."
"Erm...I think...I...errmm" Gab struggled to let the words out.
I started to get impatient, tapping my foot deliberately and crossing my arms. "What is it Gab? Have you seen it or not? If you have not seen it, then don't waste my time and just leave my room!" I shouted
Gab's mouth opened and closed. I could literally see her knees wobbling. "I...uh...did saw it. In...in...Adam's room, Miss Amelia. I'm so sorry" She lowered her head. "I shall leave now Miss Amelia." Gab turned to rush to the door but bumped into Adam's hard chest instead. She apologized to Adam profusely before finally leaving with my laundry.
Adam's tall and muscular figure leaned against my door frame. "Damn-what did you say to her? She's as pale as a ghost." Adam chuckled.
I didn't respond to Adam's stupid comment but instead grabbed my history textbook from his hand. "You should have asked before taking my stuff Adam!" Waving the book in front of his face.
"I had to use it for my history assignment. Besides, it's not as if you even use it. All you care about are what the latest fashion trends are. In fact, the only books you read are fashion magazines."
"Argh! You're such a geek! I swear if you're not as good-looking as me, people would not know that you're my brother."
Adam rolled his eyes. "Looks alone can't help you in life you know." He pushed himself off my doorframe and left.
What is that boy jabbering about? Of course looks are important. It can get you anywhere! It certainly got me to be the queen bee in Avery High. I head to my dresser and stared at my reflection in the mirror. High cheek bones. Big brown eyes. Full red luscious lips. Cute nose. Dimpled cheeks and long wavy brunette hair that always seems to fall perfectly the way I wanted. I'm not perfect but I'm damn close! I thank my Italian genes for it.
I pushed Adam's comment away from my thoughts and gather all my stuff for school. I glanced in the mirror one last time before heading to my car. Time for school.
