º SAILORS º

Let me tell you something about this world,

and about you and me.

You may not know it, but you're a sailor.

You're a sailor, I'm a sailor,

we are all sailors.

Everyday we are called out to sea,

expected to do our part and hold our weight,

but some days are heavier than others,

and some times the waves are too big.

But my friend, smooth seas do not make good sailors.

Smooth seas create patterns, routine.

Smooth seas are a myth, a trap,

used to lure all the sailors out.

Smooth seas attract every sailor,

but the true sailors stay behind, and let the waves in.

The waves are the tease, picking at your fear.

The only way to beat the waves is to face them.

Face them on a stormy afternoon or a foggy morning.

You will face them not because you have a choice,

but because you do.

You have a choice to take the smooth seas,

and you have a choice to take the rapids,

But my friend, smooth seas do not make good sailors.
