One day during training I noticed that sensei was on edge. His hair was down, but yet he eyed every movement of everything all the time as if waiting for a foe to attack out of the shadows. I was worried so I spoke to him of my concerns. "Sensei, is everything in the realm okay? You seem as if something is bothering you."
It took sensei a moment to recognize that I was speaking to him. However when he realized what I had said he eyed me over carefully and then his face softened as he relaxed.
"Oh Tresan, you can never be too careful in this world." He put his arm around my shoulder and we looked out to the mountains. "There is so much beauty in the world that it is easy for you to get distracted in it." He looked back down at me with wise eyes. Your enemys could be anywhere at any time so you mustn't let your guard down."
It made sense now. Even though things may seem to be okay or alright there is always the chance that there is an underlying problem.
Sensei closed his eyes and smiled at me and I would have returned it if it weren't for a rustling I heard in the bushes. Sensei heard it aswell and immediately took a fighting stance.
A brown blur sprinted out of the bushes and straight toward us. Sensei was prepared to attack as I realized what the blur actually was. "No Sensei!" I yelled running after him, but it was already too late. He was already spinning in the air with his leg diagonally out.
The ball of his foot connected to the blur's jaw with a crack and then the brown mass laid limp on the ground. I couldn't believe it.
Sensei just round house kicked Sammy and now she's dead.
R.I.P Sammy
