I wish I could tell you that my days started off with the faint sounds of birds chirping from outside my window and the enriching aroma of breakfast cooking on the stove but one of those things would be a lie. I've been waking up to the beautiful screams of Bulls in the Bronx by Pierce the Veil since Sixth grade and I, definitely, prefer that to bird noises any day.
If you think that the 7 years worth of jump-scares I receive every would have made me immune to the fright...you'd be wrong.

"Do YoU kNoW i CoUnT yOuR hEaRtBeAtS bEfOrE yOu-"

At the start of the song, I wake up with a gasp, sitting upright, looking around for the screaming device (also known as my phone. Dragging my hands through the sheets around me, my fingertips finally meet the cold surface of my phone. Clicking the home button, I stop my alarm lazily and collapse back into my bed, bringing my arm over my face to shield my eyes from the light. A minute later, not wanting to get up, I late sleep overtake me once more.

As the darkness settled, I felt a strange shift around me. "Dude, what am I suppose to do when she wakes up?" I hear someone whisper. Furrowing my eyebrows, I shift my weight to my side and bring the covers closer to me.

"I don't know man just go."

Deciding to ignore it, I shift again and lay on my back with my hands on my stomach.

10 minutes later, the same voice whispers my name.

"Rachael?"

I slowly open my eyes to see a pair of all too familiar ones staring back at me.

Bringing my hands up to my face, I rub my eyes gently before taking another look. I definitely wasn't dreaming. "D-iego?!"

At that moment, I quickly pushed sleep aside, sat up, and launched myself at the boy, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"What the fuck are you doing here?! You scared the hell out of me!"

Diego's eyes widened at the sudden outburst before taking me into his arms and resting his head on mine. He chuckled quietly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

Finally pulling back from the embrace, Diego shifted more onto the bed, now sitting cross-legged in front of me. Nah wanting to stop hugging him, I tackle him once more, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.

"Woah!" He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around my waist, "Someone's happy to see me."

I couldn't believe he was actually he was actually there, sitting on my bed, in my room, in Los Angeles. Something about this moment was just so surreal and I didn't want it to end.

Pulling my head back from him, I look into his eyes. "Is this really real? Are you actually here?"

Resting his hands on my hips, he gives me a reassuring smile. "I'm pretty sure I am...but there is really only one way to find out."

Giving him a sweet smile, I peck him on the lips quickly.

He stares at me with a shocked expression on his face and a pout on his lip. "Is that all I get?" At that, without hesitation, I lean in again, this time kissing him sweetly while he placed his hand on the nape of my neck gently.
