The New Borns

Gone away

The time had come and it was time for us to part. We were worry but at the same time excited. There was no way we would reverse to human beings again, but it was our choice and this was our destiny , there was no turning back if this would be done it would have to be done fast.

Katherine and I rush through the woods trying to catch our breathe, the night was cold and the only light visible was the one of the moon, shinning down at us. The air was humid and damp. While running through the trees we had to watch where we were going or else the group of Vanhelsins would catch up with us.

After finally managing to get away from them we got to a town close by, the streets were full of pole lights and there was no way the Vanhelsins would cross that path, this town was especially made for Vampire Hunters...The Slayers. This group was a very strong group. Me and Kath would sometimes see them at night running through the trees searching for Vampires. Katherine and I are really close best friends we were born the same day, in the same place, but we were from different mothers. We had always considered ourselves soul sisters but we both new the truth that one day we would have to turn in to one of them, one of those bloodsuckers, but at least we would live forever.

We step on the road and behind us we could hear them waiting for our next movement. We could see their eyes full of anxiety and anger. This was our 5th time escaping from the Vanhelsins and the time for the New Borns was approaching.

Katherine moved to my side and, then I felt a hand touch me, both Katherine and I jumped and squealed, we turned around and I saw a guy same age as me and he had an axe in his left hand which crypt us both, his eyes were blue and full of mystery. 1st we had the Vanhelsins following us and now we find ourselves with a guy and his axe can this day get any worse?. Behind us we could hear the Vanhelsins retreating and going back to Nefert the secretly home town of the night souls. The guy looked at us like wondering what we would do or say. "Hello um...am sorry did I scared you'll?" I stared at him for a minute not knowing what to say I was still shock "hi my name is Kath and this is my best friend Rose and yes you did scared us!!!" I face Kath and gave her one of those expressions that means "calm down". "My name is Kole, what are you'll doing out here at this time, you'll know what could happen if you'll are out at night you don't know what's out here the danger you both face, luckily I found you'll." "Plz I know we are girls but we don't need no help from you, we just manage to get away from the most dangerous Vampire group in the world and now that I think about it makes me feel powerful" I thought in my head. "Do you'll need help, or you'll both lost?" another guy with an axe came behind him but this one had green eyes, brown hair, and he was tall. "No We were just passing by" I said. "You know the danger you both face out here, please come in" he said.

He grab my hand and led me in, and Kole grab Kath's hand and did the same. "No this is not right we have to leave" I thought. "No thank you but we have to leave, lets go Kath" I grab Kath's arm and push her away from Kole "what is it that you'll don't understand Rose!!!" Kole told me, his hand was shaking and he was slowly walking our way. "Woah calm your horses Kole what are you doing?" I could hear the tall guy in the back saying. We slowly turn around and once more started running. "Come back!!!" I could hear Kole screaming in the back,We rush through the trees and we didn't stop until we got home. Kath live in a blue house just in front of mine. I was tired and my feet were sore Kath was getting her shoes off and turn to say " Rose this is not good we just run away from two Slayers and am sure they would be glad to know why we cross their place in the middle of the night" I turned to tell her "Kath I know this night has been very frustrating but please lets go in" Kath's parents and mine were in a cruise and they were not coming until next week, she was staying alone at home, but she was always out with me trying to figure out a way out of this problem. We went inside, we went straight to my room because she had decided to spend the night over. I got my shoes off and gave my feets a quick massage. Kath went straight for a bath and I sat there thinking about all the trouble we went through the day. It was burly Monday and it felt like it was Friday.

I felt in to a deep cold sleep forgetting everything and letting my mind rest. I was dreaming about me and Kath running through the trees it was night but we were not running away from anything we were more like playing around, all of a sudden a light came out, it took us by surprise I looked closer and I saw that it was the sun's rays. Kath jumped and scream when a ray of sun touch her arm, then I did the same thing but it wasn't because a ray had touch my skin it was be...because Kath's parents and mine were laying a few yards away from us and they...were...dead. Vampire bites were in their wrists and neck. I realize the reason Kath was screaming and it was a terrible one, we were Vampires and Vampires bite we had kill them, kill them four. I woke up screaming, Kath came running to see what was wrong "are you okay Rose?" she said offering me a hand, I hadn't realize I was in the floor. She help me stand up, everything hurt, my head, my arms everything as if I had been squish by a bulldozer. "Am ok Kath, It was just a dream" I didn't tell her what I have been dreaming of because I didn't want to upset her. I stood up and went to shower. The cold water felt good on my body I could feel my skin softening, I will really miss this days, being human was not the best thing in the world but it was something. I came out and dried my skin then I changed. I walk slowly downstairs, Kath was cooking what seem to be boil eggs and rice. I wont lie I envy her, she knows how to cook but I really don't. I grab a glass of water and drank until I finish the water. I went and sat in the table "here you go Rose" seeing her set my food in the table made me feel stupid and small, she seem to notice my thinking and snap her fingers at my face. "Hello...Earth to Rose" I smiled at her and grab my plate, I started chewing on the egg and rice "mmm this is good Kath I don't know what I would do without you" Kath looked up and smile. I finish my last pieces of food and stood up, I put my plate and Kath's in the dish washer. Today was going to be another hard day. We went upstairs and got out our boots on, outside was rainy and you couldn't really see the sun. I had always loved rain, you could place me in front of a window in a rainy day for an entire day and I wouldn't get bored a bit. "Today we have to go back to the store and get some more milk Rose" I know Kath we will go, but we have to watch out for that guy we saw yesterday (Kole)." we closed the door behind us and started making our way to the store. Lightning could be heard from miles away but it was a beautiful sight. We opened the door of the store and went inside. Kath went to the milk section and took out a gallon of milk. I paid for the milk and a chocolate bar that Katherine decided to take, we made our way home, once more Kath decided to wait outside. I went in and grab the milk and put it in the refrigerator. When I went back outside Kath was gone there was no sight of her, except for her chocolate bar in the ground. "Katherine were are you!?" "Katherine?!" I look both sides and I turned around because I smelled alcohol and, then it was all so fast, someone put a napkin in my nose and I felt in to their arms. The smell of alcohol was really strong, I could hear a guy talking to another guy but something was familiar about one of the guy's voice as if I heard it before. But where, where, have I heard this voice before, then all of a sudden I remembered, it was Kole! He carry me with his arms, I could burly make up where we were going I could see the trees and at that moment I knew he was taking me to the town, the one which me and Kath run away from yesterday. "Katherine, were is Katherine?" I ask Kole dozing. "The master wants to see you". "Where is Katherine!?" I ask once more hitting his chest this time "Rose calm down she is okay she is with the master waiting for us and you". I didn't believe this guy but when he talk to me, his voice was sweet and that made me believe on him.

Gosh this wasn't the time for getting in love with a Vampire hunter plus in two days I was going to be a Vampire and he...would have to kill me. I walked to his side and he looked at me, I felt stupid for some reason I just face the opposite way. "Why did you run away from us yesterday, the Vanhelsins could've have get you'll?" I tried to ignore his question but I felt like talking to him "I can't tell you", " and why is that Rose?" Omg why can't he understand. This time I ignore it for good. I kept walking, I wanted to see Katherine I was worry what she would say to the Slayer's master. Kole suddenly grab me by the waste and told me to not make any noise, his expression scared me, he then took out his axe from his side and put me behind him in a protective way. Suddenly I saw a shadow run fast to the left and I knew what was happening It was an ambush. A vampire came behind of a tree and then two more did the same thing. Kole raised his axe and I squished his shirt, and then one of the Vampires moved to the side and took me away from Kole. "Let her go you demons!" I looked at Kole which was struggling to get one of the Vampires off him. "Stop!, leave him alone and I will...and I will go with you'll" the Vampire that had Kole, punch him and then threw him in the air making sure that he wouldn't try to save me.

After all the commotion the Vanhelsins took me with them. Neferet was an immense place full of all the vampires, when we went in, almost all the vampires were looking at me, their faces were the faces of dogs looking at the last piece of stake in the world. I could see their desires on their face the minute I cross the Gate in. We enter this type of castle, I would admit this place was mind blowing, beautiful red blankets were place all over the floor, candles that let out a pleasant scent were literary floating in the atmosphere. We walk further and I was enjoying myself, if this was some type of spell to attract me in, it was working. The Vampires walk me in and then close the doors behind me. I hadn't even realize that we had enter a room. I just stayed there looking around, then this Vampire entered the room and I kind of freaked out. He sat in a red chair in front of me and said "Rose shall we" he said pointing to the chair in front of him, I took a sit and he said "how about you and Katherine stop running away and accept the fact that this is what you'll were born for?" I stood up "this is not good, hello we both have our parents and we are not ready to let them go" I rushed through the door and before I could open it he put his hands on the door and block my only way out. This Vampire was young like many others and he enclose me with his arms and push me to the door " going somewhere?!" he said.I had forgot how majestic and beautiful they were. His eyes were beautiful light red, not with anger but with sweetness. His scent was amazingly sweet, his hair was perfectly place, and his skin...his skin was cold as ice so when he touch my arm I shivered. Pictures of a couple rushed trough my mind and I shake my head as if I could make them go away. He moved forward and I froze "Please don't kill me" I said in my mind "I won't" he said in my ear. He moved away and ask me "You really don't know who I am do you?" I was stare at him confuse. "Am I suppose to know?"he laugh in a funny way. "You don't recognize me because I have been converted in to a Vampire" okay this was getting interesting "Do u remember Jake?" when I heard this name something click in my mind, wait a min I remember this name...Jake, Jake I repeated the name in my head. I looked at the Vampire in front of me and he said "I am Jake" I drop myself in the chair, shocked to what he had just said. "Jake but I thought, I thought you had die that night,we search for you everywhere but we couldn't find you, you but you... He grab me by the waste and hugged me. I was still surprise I hugged him with all my strength. Jake used to be my boyfriend in highschool and one day there was a fired in the school, everyone was running and screaming, when we were running out a bunch of kids came running our way trying to get out of the scorching building we were separated and he was push to the wall. A police officer took me outside but I was trying to escape to go saved Jake but the teachers didn't let me go. The building exploded and he never came out. That day I cried and cried for him the next day we search for his body and we never found it. Now that I was sobbing remembering what happen he grab my face with his arms and said " I never died Rose I never did, that day when we were separated by that group of kids a Vampire came through a window and saved me, I admit I was scared at first but I could see that he was nice so he took me away with him" I stared at him still sobbing "and since that time I have always been thankful to every Vanhelsin, they saved my life and I decided to become one of them" "Why did you never came back for me Jake I cried for you thinking you were dead I suffer for you" he looked at me and said "It could've had been dangerous I could had kill you I wouldn't had been able to resist the smell of your blood" he said looking down. Hearing this I back of him and stared at him "You don't have to worry anymore I was teach to control my thirst and soon you will" I cant be a vampire I cant, what if I die in the process who knows, something bad can happen. "The important thing is that you are alive and that you are here with me again Jake" I hugged him once more and remember that Katherine was till with the Vampire Hunters. Jake had read my mind and he looked at me "Go, go get her" I smiled at him and kissed his cold cheek. I run through the doors of Neferet and once more found myself rushing through the trees. I got through the place and I saw Vampire Slayers protecting the place.
