After August told me about his life, I fell asleep on his couch, but I woke up on his chest.
I blinked my eyes a couple times trynna wake up. I looked up at his face. His eyes was focused on the t.v.
"You woke?", he smiled.
"Yea I guess", I replied holding my head.
I looked outside seeing that it had turned night.
"Oh I gotta get up its late", I hurried.
I touched my phone, seeing that it was 10:58.
"Aight I'll take you home wen I get outta the bathroom", he confirmed.
He put on his shirt and slugged over to the bathroom.
His phone began vibrating.
I looked to see who was calling.

Plug💊💵.. Calling

He came outta the bathroom zipping up his jeans.
"Somebody called you", I said handing him his phone.

He called back saying a couple OKs and yeas.

"C'mon I gotta go", he said rushing his words.

We rushed into the night and into the warmth of his car.

"Where we going?", I worried.

"I gotta handle some business, imma take you home", he said concentrating on the road.

I thought about what was happening.
We pulled up to a small building. A couple other cars surrounded.
"Stay in here", he demanded.
He pulled something from his glove box and got out.

I rolled down the windows and peeped at what he was doing.

He went into the side of the building.
He later returned with a couple guys.

He had some dude by the jacket with a gun to his head.

"OMG fucking godddd", I whispered.

"What chu do wit my money nigga?", he asked.

"Ion got it young Aug, I need a couple days".

"Hell naw I gave you all the damn time you needed!", he yelled punching the dude in his face.

Some dudes checked his pocket.
They pulled out some money and handed it to August.

"So this is a little more time", August laughed.

He kicked the dude in the face grabbing his money.

"Get this nigga outta heh", he said.
He ranned back to the car.

I quickly rode the window.

He put the gun back in the glove box.
"Aight let's get chu home baby", he smiled.

Was he acting like nothing just happened?

"Why is blood on your hand Aug?", I pretended not to know.

"Nun baby just a little business", he smiled.

I crossed my arms and layed back.
The whole ride was quite.
When I arrived at home I got out quickly.

I slammed his door.

"I love you too!", he called.
I walked inside seeing my step-daddy at the kitchen.

"Where have you been?", My mom asked joining us.
"With my friend", I snapped.

"That dude is your friend?", he frowned.
"Yup why?", I rolled my eyes.
"Don't get Smart lil girl", My mom budded.

"This dude she hangs out with hang with Rico the drug dealer", he snitched.
"He don't have nun to do with you", I said.

My mom raised her hand and I flinched.

"Make me slap you", she gritted between her teeth.
"I wish my daddy was still living. I hate both of yall!", I yelled running upstairs.

I slammed my door and flopped down on my bed.

I buried my face in the covers and cried myself to sleep.

*The next morning*

My phone was going off at 2 in the morning.
We had a Hurricane threat so school was canceled until further notice.

I looked outside.
The sky was a ugly Grey and the clouds hung low.
The palm trees went crazy in our front yard.
Small pellets of rain began to form and I heard thunder in the distance followed by a flash of lighting.
I went down stairs. I found my sister eating in the kitchen.
"Good morning hot head", Nunu laughed.
"We heard you down here last night", Niomii laughed.

"Girl they made me mad", I said in a raspy voice.

"What happened?", Asked Niomii.

"I came in late. Because I was with August.

"He gettin you in trouble already".

"He didn't get me in trouble, I got myself in trouble", I snapped.

I fixed me some cereal and went back to my room.

I saw a text from August.

August - 🔐❤: Hey baby can I come pick you up 😚

Me: In the middle of a storm? No😒

August - 🔐❤: Well den I'm comin ova

I groaned and went to the shower.
