Dear Nevayda,
I know it's been a while since I've written you but I got very busy. I hope your doing well and your getting good grades in school-"Good grades.. Hm, doesn't write me in two years but is still worried about my grades." I scoffed.
-and getting along with June. How is Lydell and Maria? Tell them Grandmother Maggie said hello. How is whats his name.. Braden, was it? Tell him I said hello, too.-
"No, I'd rather not." I rolled my eyes, setting down the letter from my great- great grandmother, Maggie.
It had been 3 months since me and my boyfriend, Braden White, had broken up, but I guess it was nothing too bad.
"Nevs? Whatcha doin? Aren't you supposed to be packing?" My little sister said with her annoying squeaky voice, skipping into my room.
"June, get out my room." I spoke calmly, not letting the irritation get to me.
She knew I hated when she came into my room.
"Please? Can I please sit in here with you? Mom is packing and I don't feel like it." She pursed her lip, fiddling with her fingers.
"No, go pack. I still have to pack my own bags." I rolled my eyes, watching her slink out of my room.
Great grandma Maggie had died about 4 months back. She gave me everything. Like, everything. Her house, her car, her money, everything.
It was too much to ask for, even my parents were shocked.
We were going out to the house for the summer to get it ready to be sold. I've- We've never seen the house before.
"Nevayda! Are you ready? We'll leave without you!" Lydell, or my 'dad', yelled up the stairs. I'm pretty sure he only married my mom for her money.
"Yea yea! I'll be down in a second!" I yelled back, irritation in my voice.
"OFF FOR SUMMER BREAK OF BOREDOM. SAVE ME!" I texted my best friend, Esmee.
I grabbed my bright green suitcase and trudged downstairs, meeting my mom and sister at the bottom of the staircase, their faces full of excitement.
I rolled my eyes and walked to the car, tossing my case into the trunk and hopping into the backseat, waiting for everyone else to get in.

The driveway was about as long as a highway, and the house- Well, I can barely call it that, the Mansion was almost as big as my school!
"And it's mine." I kept thinking.
I climbed out of the car and stared for a moment, taking in the details of this old house.
"When was this built?" June questioned, her mouth gaping open, her missing front teeth on full view.
"January 15, 1962." My stepdad answered, looking up at the monstrosity of a home.
June's face fell, "How come she gets all of this?!"
I grabbed my bag up off the gravel and walked inside, the grand staircase greeting me.
"Whoa.." I whispered, my eyes trailing up the swirly staircase.
I heard everyone else pile in, their shoes squeaking across the marble floor.
"I'm gonna go look around.." I turned to see my parents faces drop, looking at eachother.
"Uh well.. Maybe you should take June with..?" She asked, obviously not wanting me to run off... Again.
"Absolutely not!" June protested, crossing her arms.
