As I comb back my hair into place I look at the photographs on top of my desk. They're all edited in a way that makes them look as though their old yet not at the same time, the perfect addition for Annalise's old fashioned bedroom. She'd designed it wanting to make it look antique, poster bed and all, wooden desks included. She loved it. She combed back the final piece of her hair and finally put it into a ponytail, to then start looking for any last minute items she might need at school. As she looked around and found nothing she decided to exit her room and go down stairs when she heard something knock against her window.

It was a rock which she quickly traced back to her friend Emily who was currently in front of her house and trying to get her attention. Annalise gave her an amused smile as she looked at her while Emily mouthed the words 'I was getting bored okay.' Annalise responded using that same method they'd developed years ago as she said back: 'I'll be down in a minute,' before quickly rushing of and down the stairs quickly passing her mother as she read through the newspaper and exchanging quick goodbyes.

"What took you so long," asked Emily as they started walking along the path that led to the bus stop. Emily had been Annalise's neighbor for years which only just fueled they're strong bond.

"Sorry, I just got caught up looking at the pictures we took. They look so good," she answered distractedly as she looked towards the bus stop in search of their fellow classmates who lived in the area as well.

"Well I thought you were getting murdered or something..." Emily was cut of as they both noticed someone they'd never noticed before. A boy who they had never seen before was sitting on one of the seats in the bus stop and was listening to some sort of music as he moved his head to the beat. It was quite the sight as Annalise and Emily looked at the guy who looked to be about their age sitting at the bus stop.

They exchanged a look that said, we'll talk about this later, as they proceded to the bus stop. They did mindless talk about their weekends as they waited for the bus every once in a while looking at the strange boy who barely seemed to notice them. Don't get them wrong, they were surprised by his timing since it was half way through their first semester, not the fact he was new. Their school was big enough that at the beginning of every school year a whole bunch of new people would join the school. Yet it was very strange for people to transfer in the middle of the semester which is what baffled them so much.

When the bus came Annalise and Emily where separated by their friends all wanting to talk about the weekend and when they saw the new boy, the new boy. Annalise sat next to Rosie who instantly bombarded her with questions about the new boy. Rosie, who was a year younger than Annalise which made her a sophomore, was known as one to go after all the guys. She was always in a relationship or dating someone and had broken up the previous Friday with a guy she had been dating for two months yet still looked intact and apparently already focusing on her new target. I personally didn't get it and didn't share her excitement about dating but I still tried listening to her and answering her questions as she was still my friend, even with all the boy talk.

The bus stopped in front of the school and we all started to get of when I felt a spark all of a sudden as though someone had set me on fire for a minute there. I looked around the bus trying to figure out what had just happened when my eyes spotted the new boy getting of the bus.

'What's going on?'I thought to myself still completely disoriented as I got off the bus and headed towards the school doors not knowing what to expect yet at the same time knowing.
