Ever since the Tragedy of Niki's death Her best friend had been left all alone. Walks alone on the beach,scraping messages with a stone on the footpath.That's all she had for entertainment.The whole village of Beverley was left in gloom.Laura's mother forbade her to do anything outside the house.Sometimes She would creep out and go to the beach or occasionally the abandoned play ground.She was homeschooled while all the other children of the village went to school in the nearest town.She was desperate to go to school and make friends but her parents were against it.One day when her mother's old friend arrived with her family and broke the news that they had shifted ,her mum was overcome with happiness .Laura had never seen her mum so happy. She noticed that there was a girl about her age hiding behind her mum.Her mum's friend introduced her."This is Lilly,my daughter ".But Laura was not paying attention .All she was thinking was that her mum had a change of mind.Maybe her mum would let her go to school with Lilly.She planned to ask her mother the following night.At night she tiptoed to her mother's room and woke her mother up and asked her.Her mother was exhausted so she told her she'd think about it .
Laura lied in her bed and wondered what would happen next.In the morning she made her parents breakfast in bed to add that Cherry on top of the whipped cream .Her mother told her that they had considered sending her to school and they wanted to know if she was sure about this.
