Chapter 11~

Stiles's pov~

Derek and I are in his car on the way down to the hospitals morgue to see melissa and my dad. Apparently there was a homicide that involved an animal attack and it looks a little fishy. Apparently the victim was another girl , possibly an alpha that was in town looking for Scott or Deucalion. We swerved into the parking lot and parked opposite the doors right outside. We both got out and ran in heading straight for the morgue. We arrived and greeted Melissa. " hey, so you--er found a girls body in the woods. Why do I get the sense of déjà vu?" I said looking to Derek. Derek just glared at me, but then walked over and surprisingly, put his arm round me. He knew I didn't like gory stuff so it was nice to know he cared. " so, do you know who she is?" I asked. Melissa looked at me worriedly. "Actually, do you remember when we brought in Laura hale's body a while back?" "Yes" Derek said flatly. I put my arm around him, talking about your dead sister can't be easy. Especially when it was your uncle who killed her. Melissa paused. "Well, this girl has the same markings, DNA and was found in the same scene as Laura" she said quietly. Me and Derek both looked at her, interested. Derek piped up. "Can we see her body, I might know her or who the killer is by scent?" Melissa nodded. "Please, right this way " she led us to a locker and unlocked it. She pulled out the tray with the body lay lifelessly on it. She pulled the cloth from over the girls face. Her face was so...so cold. As if frozen forever (which unfortunately she was). She looked so frail and battered, it was heartbreaking, and I could tell from the look on Derek's face, it broke him aswell. "So--you recognise her?" I asked sensitively. He nodded , a tear slipping from his eye. "It's em--" he stuttered, his lip trembling. "It's ok- c'mon" I said reassuringly. I wiped the tears from his cheek. "It's Paige" he said finally. I stopped, absolutely dumbstruck. "P-Paige? The same Paige Peter said you used to go out with?" I asked. I wrapped my arms around him, holding him. Derek just broke down altogether. "Hey Melissa have you got any tissues lying around anywhere? " I asked. She nodded. "Sure, I'll go get a box" she said. As she exited through the door I sat Derek down. "Derek, Peter told me about her but I swear he lied. The alpha. The new alpha's scent is all over her, who's scent is it?" I asked, my heart skipping several beats. "I don't know their scents are different to their human scent. " he explained. "Ok ok. It's okay Derek , it's okay" I said rocking him. He just sobbed. (Man I'd never seen him like this before) Melissa came back with a box of tissues. She took some and handed then to Derek. He looked up at her and mouthed thank you to her. She smiled. He wiped his eyes with the tissues and hugged me. I hugged back, he obviously is having a tough time. He looked to me. "Stiles I wanna show you something. " he said to me. "Sure, of course" I said. He got up and took my hand in his. " thank you for everything mrs. McCall , it means a lot we'll see what we can do " he thanked her politely. "No problem, take good care" she answered. He led me out if the morgue, the hospital and out to his car. He then paused. "Better off on foot..." He mumbled under his breath. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Shh!" He shushed me. "Erm. Did you just shush me?!" I asked shocked. "Shut up and follow me " he snapped.
He started walking round the back of the car park and into the woods. I had to run to catch him up. Halfway through these woods I realised they weren't the beacon hills reserve, it was the other side of town. My dad had told me about this place. That it wasn't safe, that all sorts of creatures and secrets were hidden here. We continued through the steep woods, and the further we got I realised how beautiful this place was. We were following a path of bluebells, that soon led into an opening.

It was the most beautiful place I had ever stood before. There stood a breathtaking willow tree, it's trunk a deep brown, so deep that in the sunlight it looked violet. It's leaves and branches spread wide, green and bright. Beneath it sat a lovely large lake that glistened in the burning sun. It was like something out of a fairy tale.
"It's so...beautiful " I managed to say. "Isn't it?" Derek whispered.
"How did you even find this place?" I asked. He looked back to me. "My sister, Laura, showed me. She told me when I was younger that this was the only safe place, the only ace where you can truly be yourself" he whispered. I walked up to him and took his arm. I pulled him to the tree and started climbing up it. "Let me guess, you used to sit up here huh?" I asked smugly. He smiled. And started climbing up after me. We reached the second tallest branch and both sat across it, staring out at the beautiful scenery. " this is the place that people visit in their dreams..." I said. "Paradise" Derek corrected me. "Yeah...paradise" I said.

2 hours later~Derek's pov~

We've been sat here for two hours, taking in the fresh air and beautiful views. Me and stiles being together, just the two of us, put everything in perspective , especially here. "You know...I've never opened up to anyone as much as I have to you stiles ... Not even Paige or my mother. Do you realise that?" I asked curiously. He looked up. "I didn't realise that until you said it like that. I know it's hard..." He explained. "Bottling your feelings up...it's like..like" "Drowning?" I suggested. "Exactly. You get it...nobody else does.." I said, a tear slipping from my eye. Stiles leant over and wiped it away softly. Suddenly, I heard a twig nearby snap. I snapped my head around to see from the corner if my eye a large black shadow hiding between the trees. I knew what it was. "Derek..." Stiles whispered. "It's him...the alpha" I said. I suddenly jumped down from the tree and sprinted towards him, he stated running, much faster than me, but I couldn't let him get away. I sprinted as fast as I could, further into the woods until I lost him, he had dodged me, once again ...

Stiles's pov~

Derek had ran off after the alpha , and now I have no idea what to do. I take out my cell and text Scott a picture if the beautiful opening. Within seconds he texts back:

Scott: Woah, where are you?
Me: Well , I was in the woods at the other side of town with Derek but guess what?
Scott: what?!
Me: He ran off after the alpha and now I have no idea where the hell he is or how I'm supposed to get back!
Scott: ok ok, just try And figure out which way he went and follow him?
Me: k, thanks buddy, wait where are you I haven't seen you in like a week?
Scott: I've just been a lil busy that's all...
Me: Scott ...

It's been 10 minutes an I know he's ignoring me. Great...
I was gonna go find Derek until I heard a piercing scream come from nearby...
