Part 6: the dream

The smiling figure was bugging me, it was tormenting me. I knew what it was doing, it was trying to make me think about everything, and it was succeeding. This torment was enough to drive any one crazy, luckily i'm not anyone. I know i'm insane, everyone does, I creep and follow, I know everyone's business and i am not afraid to use your secrets against you, i only have the one secret but my secret is only know by those I trust faithfully. People should fear me. 

I'm walking along a corridor its like the ones at school, other than it's never ending. The figure is walking along side me, without a sound not even its foot steps. I feel it leading me somewhere, somewhere unknown and new, unknown to everyone but me, this was my secret. 

It's the garden, me and death play there, I always escape its grasp but I know it's coming, always sneaking up on me. It''s ghostly black cape flowing like waves crashing on a shore, such danger holding immense beauty. Death entices me closer, almost grasping me, but I run but I realize i'm not running, i'm not even close to moving, i'm stuck still with Death coming closer and closer. Suddenly I feel it's tight grasp on my wrist and i know i'm gone this is it.........

I awake covered in sweat and I notice i'm crying, I look to the mirror. It's gone. The figure, Death, it's gone. Maybe this is the next move, maybe Death is coming and poisoning my dreams with its fear and danger. 

I try to calm myself but I cant do a thing, i'm scared and shaking, my night gown sticking to my body, I feel tight and closed in. I strip and take the duvet off my bed. I lay there with nothing on and just my sheet underneath me, I focus on my breathing and it feels like hours pass. And then I hear the first bird singing. It's always a hopeful song, the first bird carries hope for those who hear it, but not me. i go over and shut the window, shutting out all the noise.
