((Part one lady's and gentlewolves. Part two is in the works and being a pain in my neck. I am currently re-re-rewriting part two because it is not up to snuff, quite frankly it is crap. I just cant seem to get it down on paper how I want. I am going to go take a long walk after I post this and hopefully that will clear my head and help stick the story down properly. In the meantime ENJOY.))((White She-wolf POV))
The soft thud of her heart in her ears and the gentle swish of her breath in her lungs where the first things she was aware of. The feel of clouds was beneath her, soft and light. As her awareness spread she could hear the soft breathing of someone close to her. And the amazing sent of pines and cold mountain water wafted over her. Where was she? This was not her cell. She huffed and tried to open her eyes, but they were too heavy. Quickly she took inventory of her body fearing something was wrong.
Paws and legs? Good.
Tail? Still there.
Head and ears? No damage there.
Her body? Sore, but not the usual sore.
This made her pause. She didn't feel like she would after a beating, it felt more like the ache after one has a high fever. Had she been sick? She cast her mind back trying to remember. The new wolf had been howling... then she had to drink her water... there had been a tour. A big tour. She remembered the she-wolf with the little shiny box.... And having to shift.
Fear overwhelmed her, great bursts of shivers wracked her body as she remembered HIM being so mad. HIM injecting something that had made her feel like living fire. And then... and then... something had happened. Something had come? What had happened next? She could not remember. Something was not right! Where was she? What was going to happen to her? Was HE finally done with her? Was she to be the next toy to go through the door never to return?
Something moved beside her, and the next thing she knew a warm and gentle hand was stroking her fur and a soothing voice was speaking. Blissful tingles danced across her skin where the hand was. A wave of calm swept over her such as she had never known before. Her fearful shivering slowly stopped and she listened to the deep baritone voice rumbling above her.
"It's ok, you are alright. You are safe. I won't let anything happen to you again. Open your eyes sweetheart, can you open your eyes for me?"
The warm, gentle hands had moved to her face, the thumbs stroking over her furry wolf cheekbones. Feeling new strength flowing into her from those hands she huffed an agreement and slowly opened her eyes.
A man's face filled her vision, he was mouthwateringly hansom. He had dark brown hair that was almost black and fell in a tussled mess just brushing his ears. Tanned and freckled skin, high cheekbones, full lips, and a strait nose made him look proud and regal. His eyes though were what held her attention. They were a honey brown flecked with golden notes that seemed to catch the light and glow. She could not look away.
"Mine." The man sighed as he gazed back at her just as captivated. Memories of stories her fellow toys had shared about mates left behind or lost flooded her. The old spotted she-wolf telling her over and over again of when she had found her mate. The feelings she had had. Could it be? She inhaled deeply and his sent was more powerful to her than any other had ever been.
Still unable to break eye contact with him she slowly shifted until she was on her belly and her head was raised. Slowly, ever so slowly, as if not to spook him or cause him to vanish like a dream after waking she leaned forwards until her nose almost touched his. Pushing out her thoughts to him just as slowly she felt his mind meld with hers easier than any she had ever linked. She felt the truth of her question in his mind and an unknown emotion swelled in her chest threatening to escape.
Yours. She whispered back to him though their forming bond. He smiled a true smile of uncontained happiness, tears gathering at the corners of his eyes. He leaned in closer, closing the distance and pressed his forehead against hers. Her mate choked a laugh of such happiness that she felt her own tears begin to fall softly through her fur. For the first time she felt truly happy.
