Economics was the last lesson of the day and i had to gone to the library to borrow some books for our new projects. It started to pour as soon as i leave the school but thank god i brought a small umbrella in my bag. I decided not to keep the books inside my bag because it is already full with books and i dont wanna make my shoulder ache or anything so i just hold it in my arms. I walked into the empty street under the heavy rain and it is harder than i thought. My bag is wet. My books are drizzled with raindrops thanks to the wind blowing the rain. Even my dress is getting wet. God please stop this rain!

There's no pathway and there's no shelter where i could walk under so i had to walk on the road. As i was walking, i heard the sound of motorbike engines starting but i could barely see anything under this heavy rain. I walk deeper into the street, and a few motorbikes drove past me. One of their bikes hit my arm and i dropped my books and umbrella. My umbrella is ruined and all broken because one of them drove on it and my books are soaked wet in the little puddle beside me and i look like i just showered, under the rain.

"You rascals!", i shouted at them.

They turned their bikes around and faced them towards my direction. There are 5 of them and they're all wearing black. Are they gangsters? I dont have a good feeling about this.

The guy in the middle get off his bike and lift his helmet from his head and throw it onto the ground. Within seconds, his face and hair are soaked wet.

He walks closer and closer as i take a few steps backwards. I can now see his face under the street light. He has piercings on his face. On his lower lip, his ears and his left eyebrow. He's wearing a black leather jacket but i could see a peek of tattoos on his neck. Well Jennifer, you just shouted at a gangster. You're in deep shit.

He stared at me before bending down to pick up my stuff that i dropped. I didn't dare to move a muscle and when he stood back up, he gave me my books and umbrella. And again, he stares at me. I can't help but to look at him. He's really good looking despite having all those piercings on his face.

He didn't say a word, not even sorry. I can't stand there looking at him while he's doing the same. I don't know but his gaze is piercing deeper and deeper into mine that the only thing i have in mind is to walk away. No. Maybe run away because what if he attacks me? I turned my back on him before he could even say anything. Well he probably won't but yeah. I walk as fast as i can, resisting myself not to look back at him. Funny how this street is empty and slightly abandoned. I can't help it and turn my head over to my shoulder. He is still standing at the spot where i dropped my books. I'm really nervous. Why is he still there? He's not moving. He's watching me walking away. What if he stalks me home? I turned back to face the front and this time, i ran. I look at my books and oh my god. It's soaking wet and muddy. The librarian is gonna chop me into pieces if i dont clean it up but how am i gonna get rid of all the mud? Im dead.

I spot a taxi nearby and immediately get on it. Once i got home, my mom is cooking in the kitchen and my dad isn't home yet.

"Jenny you're back!", mom hugged me with her apron on.

"Mom i have to clean this mess up", i showed her my books.

"What happened?"

"I lost grip and dropped them into a puddle", i lied.

"You're so clumsy. I'll help you clean it. Meantime, you go get freshen up", she took the books away and i sighed.

I sort of took a shower didnt i? Well it was an unpleasant one though. I get into my bathroom for a quick shower then got my night dress on. I walk into the kitchen again and my mom and dad are having dinner.

"Daddy", i hug him from the back.

"Hey how was school?", he smiled.

"It was alright. How did the surgery went?"

"It went well darling. Had your dinner?"

"No..thats why i'm here", i laughed. Gosh i'm famished. I took a plateful of rice and some chicken curry that mom just cooked. Now this is heaven.

"You're really hungry tonight", dad laughed.

"Didnt you eat in school today?", mom asked.

"Yeah but i get ten times hungrier on rainy days", and i shove myself mouthful of rice.

"I cleaned your books by the way. Fortunately, the pages didnt have any mud on them. Only the covers of the books has but it's all clean now. You just got to dry them up", mom said pointing to the books at the kitchen counter.

"I dont know what i would do without you mom, thank you", i said and she smiled.
