13. First of Many
Vincent's POV
Before the explosion
Leanna and I sneak out of campus only to get caught by a guard coming back from break.
"Where do you think you two are going?!" The overweight guard asks.
We stare silently.
"Y'all know you better have a good reason to be out!" He barks.
Leanna gasps and puts her head in my chest.
We usually did this when we got caught. Leanna has a baby face so to see her cry is painful to yourself.
"Well if you must know we are pregnant." I tell him.
Leanna nails dig into my back at the lie. I try, and almost fail, to control my laughter from the distraught look on the guards face and Leanna's annoyance.
"And this was going to be our first doctor's appointment together." Leanna sobs.
The guard turns ghostly pale. "I'm so sorry. Please go I don't want to get in the way of that."
He lets us leave then Leanna pushes me. "Pregnant!" She laughs.
I laugh. "It was the first thing to come to my mind."
Shaking her head she says, "For such a bright student you sure are slow!"
I roll my eyes at her in response, interlocking our hands. Walking ahead we see the lights of a carnival.
"Ice cream shop then carnival." Leanna commands.
I nod, sweating from the heat outside.

"Die! Die! Die!" Leanna screams as we play laser tag.
It was her idea to play laser tag after eating ice cream. We are on the same team. We're standing back-to-back as we attack our opponents. Together we're the perfect team.
All too soon the game ends and we're checking the score. Unsurprisingly I won with Leanna coming in second.
She smiles. "Good job Vince."
I wrap my arm around her waist and we walk throughout the carnival.
It's loud children yelling and running. Their parents follow behind them with annoyed expressions.
Leanna chuckles.
"Come on we've gotten on every ride here. I got something I've always wanted to show you." I tell her.
She nods and we leave the carnival.
The streets of Earth are a lot different now.
Aliens wonder the streets just like humans.
Before it was different when earth was at war with damn near the whole Galaxy!
Even to this day many other worlds still don't like us, because of the war. The result in it devastated planets, resources, and ruined many lives.
"So is there any chance that you'll tell me where we're going?" Leanna asks.
I shake my head. "Si dovrebbe sapere meglio Leanna. Non ti ho mai detto dove erano in corso."
She rolls her eyes. "So e mi fa impazzire! Lo sai che odio sorprese!"
Oh God. It was always sexy when Leanna spoke in Italian. It just makes me want her so bad.
