Shanes (POV)
I'm going to do it. I'm going to marry Lisa. I finally decided who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I should call Joey and tell him the big news.
Joey's (POV)
RING RING
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Shane. I need to tell you something. Can you come over?"
"Sure Shane I'll be there in 10."
"Ok bye"
OMG!!! I wonder what Shane wants to tell me...I grab a pair of black skinny jeans and a tee-shirt and get dressed. I grab my keys and go to Suzuki. (Name of his car. I probably spelled it wrong.) I get to his house and knock on the door.
Shane's (POV)
I hear a knock on the door and I see it's Joey. I answer the door.
"Hey Joey! Get the f*ck in here!"
I give him a big hug since it's been like 2 weeks since I last saw him. I breathe in his scent. It gives me shivers. Joey always smelled so good. WAIT?! WHAT AM I SAYING?! IM GOING TO MARRY LISA!!!
We go to the couch and sit down. I look into to his eyes and he looks back at mine.
"So...what's up Shane. You sounded super nervous on the phone. Is everything ok?"
"I couldn't be better!"
"Ok? So what's up?"
" The reason I wanted to talk to you was that I...I..I'm going to propose to Lisa!"
Joey's (POV)
OMG! He can't marry Lisa I love him!
"Joey...JOEY!! Your super pale. Are you ok?"
I jump up and say " I...I have to go," and bolt for the door.
"WAIT!!!" Shane cries but I ignore him. I get in my car and speed away. Tears spill down my face. My heart is broken and like Humpty Dumpty it will never be put back together.
Shane's (POV)
Why did Joey leave? I thought he would be happy. I better go to his house to see if he's ok. I grab my keys and head out the door.
Joey's (POV)
I finally get home and I get to my apartment and fall on the couch and let the tears flow. I hear a knock on the door but ignore it and continue sobbing.
Shane's (POV)
I reach Joey's apartment and knock on the door. No answer.
"Hey Joey? It's me Shane...open the door."
I put my ear to the door and hear someone crying.
I panick. "JOEY?! JOEY..ANSWER THE F*CKING DOOR! I WILL BREAK THIS F*CKING DOOR DOWN!"
"I can't talk Shane. Come back later!"
"Joey come on...talk to me. You know you can tell me anything."
Joey opens the door. His eyes are red and puffy.
I walk inside and go to the couch. He sits down next to me and keeps looking at the floor.
"Joey...what happened back at my house? You just turned pale and bolted out the door.
Joey's (POV)
I feel so ashamed I can't lookat his eyes.
"Joey...what happened at my house you just turned pale and bolted."
"I'm sorry Shane. Its just that I...I..." I don't finish my sentence and look back at the ground wondering if I should tell him the truth, I try but the words get stuck in my mouth and I can't get the words out. I start to freak out and start hyperventilating.
"Joey...JOEY calm down! Your gonna make yourself pass out!!"
I take a few deep breaths and calm down.
"S-Shane?" I ask
"Yeah Joey?"
"I freaked out and left because when you said you were going to propose to Lisa my heart broke...because I love you!" I gasp and cover my mouth wanting for him to get angry.
"Joey...I'm sorry, but I love Lisa and you will always be my best friend...and nothing more."
Shane's (POV)
Joey's eyes fill up with tears. He gets up and runs to his room locking himself in. I run up to the door and scream "JOEY...JOEY I'M SO SORRY!!"
"JUST LEAVE!" HE SCREAMS
"Ok Joey." I leave and shut the door behind me.
I drive home in silence. I keep replaying what happened over and over. Did I do the right thing? I question myself.
