Kate opened her eyes to see herself reflected in a body-length mirror. Her red hair was tangled and a complete mess, her eyes were slightly swollen and her wrists were bruised. She was in a small room that had three walls and a door behind her. A few clothes hangers were hanging on small coat-racks on two of the walls and she could hear people talking through the thin drywall. Running her fingers through her hair, Kate turned around, placed her hand on the door handle, turned it and pushed the door open. Her eyes were met with the sight of women, browsing racks of clothes of all different colors and sizes. One woman with an armful of clothing started walking towards her and when she reached Kate, she continued to shove her to the side and enter the small fitting room she had just emerged from. Slightly taken aback by the woman's rudeness, Kate left the store, only to find herself amidst a gigantic mob of people that were walking throughout the building she was in. Overwhelmed, she headed towards the clearest part of building until she reached the center, where even more people sat at tables eating. Kate turned in a complete circle, taking in her bizarre surroundings, when a memory hit her like a bus. A shopping mall. That's where she was, a shopping mall. She was so consumed with relief that she failed to realize that a tall man in a police uniform had approached her. He grabbed her arm roughly, shaking her from her realization, and she whipped around to face him.
"I'm going to need you to cooperate with me." He said in a rough voice as he grabbed Kate's wrists and attempted to cuff them. Panicking, Kate instinctively drew her foot back and kicked the man in the crotch just before he was about to lock the cuffs. He doubled over in pain and she took the opportunity to sprint towards the nearest exit.
Kate is our fellow hot sauce and everything spicy addict :)
