Songbird

Like a night sky
Thoughts of you are never ending
They are eternal and bright
yet I cannot see so far.

The stars, there and free
Dying with so much beauty
Idolized in death and beyond;
What a deafening thought.

The daylight is a reminder,
A harsh knock of reality,
Enough to bring me to my knees.
There are too many but not enough hours.

I am waiting,
I am waiting.

For life's desolation.

Death's natural embrace.

Whilst the songbirds are singing,
The roots of the inevitable will drag me down.

Their beautiful voices will end my sorrows,
Until I awake under the stars,
Your hand wiping my tears,
Your smile, as peaceful as the songbird's melody
It will be my final storm.

I am waiting for the songbird.
For the end and beyond.
