(A/N: It's Febuary! So here's your gift, a locklyle fanfiction updated daily! Hopefully... And yes I know, yesterday was the first day of February and I didn't update. That's why you'll get two chapters today. Also I started writing this when I was an inexperienced writer, so sorry for any weird parts. Quick warning that applies to the whole book: this is very ooc, so if you come across one of the many parts where a character is being ooc, the chances are I already know that. Happy Reading!)
-13 days before Valentines day...-
Lucy just woke up, realizing what month it was.
February already? Lucy thought. It seems like it was just yesterday it was January... Oh wait... Well, only thirteen more days till valentines day. Only thirteen more days until Lockwood probably goes out with some perfect girl, and George and I stay home, having a boring day.
High pitched screaming then rang throughout 35 Portland row.
WHAT WAS THAT? Lucy wondered frantically. More importantly, WHO WAS THAT?
Lucy then ran down to the kitchen with her rapier.
"Okay, where's the ghost? Is everyone okay? Why is no one panicking?"
"LUCY LUCY LUCY!!!" Lockwood screamed.
"ARE YOU OKAY? WHERE'S THE GHOST?"
"... Ghost?"
"Yeah, isn't that why you're screaming?"
"No. Look at this." He then held up a calendar.
"... It's just a calendar." Lucy muttered.
"Yes, now look at the month."
"Okay, it's February. What's so bad about February?" Lucy was now thoroughly confused.
"Yes, now, what day occurs in February once a year?"
"Umm... Valentines day. What's so bad about Valentines day?"
"Umm, EVERYTHING!" Lockwood said. "EVERYTHING IS WRONG!... I'm sorry, Luce. It's just that... Well... This girl I..." Lockwood then trailed off.
Should I tell her? Lockwood thought. No... No, I should just keep her in the dark for a little while longer. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. She doesn't need to know I like her. Lockwood decided. Maybe I'll just tell her everything without using a name.
Lucy appeared calm on the outside, but on the inside, just the thought of Lockwood liking someone who wasn't her made her blood boil.
I knew it! I knew he liked someone! He'll probably be with the perfect person on Valentines day! Great, now I'm going to be stuck here with George on Valentines day.
"Lockwood?" Lucy said.
"Hm?" Lockwood said with a slightly faraway look in his eyes.
"LOCKWOOD!" SNAP OUT OF IT!" Lucy yelled, trying to snap him out of his trance.
"HUH? I'M HERE! I'M AWAKE!" Lockwood was suddenly alert.
"That's better. Now tell me more about why you hate Valentines day."
"Okay. Like I said, the girl I like doesn't know that I like her, and I'm afraid to ask her out." Lockwood could already feel his face heating up. "And if I do somehow find the courage to ask her out, she'll probably turn me down anyways."
"Lockwood, why in the world would this girl turn you down? You're amazing! You're skilled with a rapier, you're smart, you're usually always positive, you have the most amazing smile, you-" Lucy stopped herself.
LUCY! STOP! DON'T SAY ANOTHER WORD! He can't know. Now shut up, change the subject, and continue the conversation.
"Umm.. Well, anyways, what can you tell me about her?" Lucy asked. "What does she like? What does she look like? What's her name?
"I'm not going to give you her name, but she likes drawing, tea and biscuits-"
"Who doesn't like tea and biscuits?" Lucy interrupted. "Oh, sorry. Go on."
"And she has the most beautiful eyes, dark with little specks of hazel."
Lucy's hands were now clenched into fists at her sides, gritting her teeth. Jealousy and rage silently burned within her as she longed to be the girl Lockwood fancied and just kept going on and on about.
"And- Lucy? Are you okay? You look like you're ready to turn someone into a ghost."
"I'm completely fine. Lucy said in a tone that suggested that if Lockwood wanted to live, he should stop talking.
"Are you su-"
"I said I'm. Fine." Lucy growled.
"Okay, okay, just checking if-"
"Nope. I'm good. Everything's great!" Lucy said, putting a slightly demented smile on her face.
George walked into the kitchen, saw what was happening, and instantly walked out.
"I don't even want to know." George muttered to himself.
"Well, I'm going back upstairs! If anyone needs me, just call!" Lucy said, walking up the stairs.
"I was right, I didn't want to know." George muttered, turning on the television.
Lockwood sat down next to George.
"Is she okay?"
"Nope. I don't know why either."
"Oh well, just forget about it and watch some Doctor Who."
