The Moment She Fell In Love

"I don't know what to do Em," Brandon said obviously heartbroken. "I mean I love her and all but there is just something about Spencer...she catches my eye."

"Bran, just do what you think is right. Just try not to hurt her."  Em said sympathetically.

Em was never very good at giving out advice. She was always the kind of girl who needed advice. She was trying her best but new from the look on Brandon's face she wasn't helping much. At least she tried.

"Bro, dump her ass and go for Spencer. Obvious choice right there." Austin, as always, had butted in on their conversation.

"Austin! Shut up! You arent helping." Shouted Em. "You are such a guy. Why do I even talk to you?"

"Oh come on Em. You know you love me!" Austin batted his eyelashes when he said this.

"Can you two please stop arguing for two seconds and help me here?" Brandon pleaded.

"Hey Bran, is this the hoe James always talks about?" Austin asked as he nodded towards me.

"Dude, shut the hell up!" Brandon exclaimed trying to cover for his brother.

"James talks about me?" Em asked with hope gleaming in her eyes.

Em had loved James ever since they first met 4 months before then. James was the shy guy, never seeking attention. Em always looked for this type of guy. He was tall, tan and knew exactly what to say to make her get butterflies in her stomach. James talked to her sometimes but Em always thought it was probably because he felt bad for her. Em knew that her and James could never be together. He had so many girls after him and she was in the back of his mind.

"Austin your a fag!" Brandon said as he pushed Austin.

"Em, he is ALWAYS talking about you." Austin said with a grin on his face.

The thing with Austin is that you can never tell when he is kidding. He is the kind of kid who can either be the nicest kid ever or the meanest kid ever. Em liked the nicer side better. Even though she was almost positive he was kidding, she could still hope.

Em shot Brandon a glance saying 'Don't you dare lie to me!'

Brandon nodded hesitantly and Em, exploding with happiness on the inside, tried to hide it how happy she was. "Oh..." was  all she could manage to say.

"Shut up!" Austin yelled towards Em, "We all know you love him too. You aren't very good at hiding it."

Austin always knew what Em was thinking before she herself even knew what she was thinking. She knew that Austin can read her like a book but she would never admit it. Austin was the only one who could tell when she lied so she tried not to lie around him too much.

"So...?" Is once again all Em could say without squealing from happiness. She looked around the corner into the kitchen at James who was reading a book and listening to his iPod and smiled to herself.

Brandon was good at talking to Em without using words. He had a look for everything and Em knew exactly what this look was. It was a look that meant 'You know I am going to tell him, right?'

Em smiled and blushed and looked down. She couldn't believe that a guy like James would like a girl like her. 

Em, Brandon and Austin then went up into Brandon's room to talk about this so that James couldnt hear them talking. Em practically danced down the hallway. Brandon and Austin simultaneously rolled their eyes, annoyed with her happiness.

Em looked back at James as she went to close Brandon's door. He was so cute when he studied. 

"Em, we can help you out with James. He is our brother and we know him very well. He likes you a lot." Brandon whispered.

Austin turned music up pretty loud so James couldn't hear them. "Em there is just one thing..."

"What is it?" Em asked worried. Brandon could hear the worrying in her voice and giggled to himself. Em knew exactly why he was laughing.

"It is nothing bad. Just, if you want to date him you have to tell him you like him or he will know I told. Please just tell him." Austin pleaded.

"Yeah, no problem." Em said without being completely aware of what she was doing and saying. "Wait! How does something like that just come up in conversation?"

"Em, you are the most random person I have ever met! It wont be very difficult for you." Brandon had a point.

Em got an idea! "Okay, how about one of you guys calls him in here and says 'Em likes you!' and I will pretend to be mad at you for telling him. Will that work?"

Before anyone could even answer there was a pounding on the door. Em's heart immediately sank to her stomach and nerves closed up her throat so she couldn't talk.

Luckily it wan't James, it was their sister Ashley. She was a real sweetheart. "Hey Austin can you drive me to work in like an hour?" She asked.

Austin groaned but agreed. She only worked 5 minutes away but Austin didnt want to miss this.

Brandon then called James into the room but he didn't come.

"He is listening to music dumbass!" Em informed him.

Before Em even finished her sentence Austin was out the door running full speed to get James from the kitchen. Em could hear Austin shouting excitedly. 

James turned off his music and walked into Brandon's room. Em could smell his cologne when he walked past her straight over to Brandon. 

"What is it?" James said sounding worried.

Em put her headphones in so she didn't have to hear this and be embarrassed. She glanced up from her iPod and James was smiling. She loved his smile, it was perfectly white and straight. To die for. 

Before Em could even choke out any words James was facing her. She slouched in the chair more and blushed. He walked right over to her, took her headphones out and kissed her. The first of many. It caught Em off gaurd and she didnt know what was happening until he pulled away, smiled at her and walked out. 

Em was so excited, as soon as he closed the door she stood up, shrieked and hugged Brandon and Austin. "Thank you guys so much!" 

They both laughed and hugged her back. Em stayed there hanging out with Brandon and Austin all day and when Brandon was going to drive her home James told him to go sit down because he was taking her home.

James grabbed Em's hand and was walking her outside. Em looked back in the room to Austin and Brandon. They were smiling at her and she returned the smile.

The car ride was awkward at first Em's face was beat red and James had a huge smile on his face the entire car ride. After about ten minutes of awkward silence James reached for her hand. She gladly gave him to him.

When they had arrived at her house James walked her up to the porch and sat down on the stairs.She was going to sit down next to him but he pulled her onto his lap. She giggled and smiled sweetly. He looked into her eyes and kissed her. This was the moment she fell in love.
