1. Ren and Splendid.
Splendid ruled three slightly wonky columns into her notebook which was labeled "What a peculiar day for a birthday cake". Splendid often though up odd sentences of nonsense and whenever one materialised she'd pull out one of her notebooks and label them thus. She currently owned 75 notebooks, only 32 of them being named and placed curiously upon surfaces through out her entire house. Her most recently labeled ones were named "Black coffee on my head", "I would fancy a little cat by the sea" and "Sailors from mars own lovely jam jars". Splendid chewed upon her cornflower blue pencil reflectively as she stared at her ruled paper before a look of utter most excitement filled in her blank expression and she scrawled a sentence above the first column;
"WHY I MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT ENJOY YOUR DEATH"
Smiling like a cat who had just been fed something rather scrumptious, Splendid started on a list;
-I wouldn't have anyone to dance with
-I would have to make my own dinner every night
-I am not a very good cook
-You know this, so please don't die or I shall be very upset with you
-No-one would sing in the shower
-And I'm sure it would miss your singing very much
-I'd have to get a proper job (I rather like my job as it is)
-I wouldn't be greeted with "My afternoon will be very Splendid, indeed! I do love my Splendid evenings with Splendid".
-My life would be rather dull
-I would have to sell some of my cats
-Glimmer would most certainly go first
-Glimmer is the fattest
-I would miss you.
-You wouldn't be able to read with me because you would be under the ground
-Your being under the ground will mean you would get dirty
-I like you clean.
-I like you alive.
Splendid closed her notebook and her eyes. She liked making lists, they made her smile. There was a bang and Splendid's eyes opened wide. "My afternoon will be very Splendid, indeed! I do love my Splendid evenings with Splendid". She swivelled her chair around to face her door but got caught up in the spin and ended up on the moon. Ren flew into Splendid's chair and kissed her on each eyelid. "What are you doing in space, Ren?" She asked dreamily, touching her fingertips to his brow. "Catching meteors" He replied and she laughed at this so he spun her around until her vision blurred and she really did see stars. "Splendid!" Ren exclaimed before he turned into nothing but particles of his former self so she cried "Stop! I cannot see!" and he stopped. "I made a list today but I am planning on making three so you cannot look". He asked if they were about him and she laughed and kissed his head. "Everything is about you."
2. Miniscule Vessels.
Hand face down on the clock. 6:15am. Start.
Vessel was never one for early mornings. He enjoyed sleeping until the pm and going to sleep in the am. He was not an early worm. "Early bird." He said aloud, speaking to no one but himself. "Early bird gets the worm, not early worm gets the bird". It was so hard to think when the moon was still up and the sun wasn't due for at least another hour. "Vessel Montreal, the boy who generally wakes up a minute before he's supposed to be out the door, up at 6:15?" He checked his clock "Uh, 6:17". Vessel stumbled to his cupboard and swung the doors open unceremoniously. "Clothes! Clothing! Material and fabric! How you itch upon my weathered skin!". Silence. "You dare defy me?!". He attacked the contents of the cupboard with full force, dragging every stitch of clothing from their hangings. "Once again you have been struck down." He declared before dragging on whatever he grabbed first.
