My parents sent me to a hospital. This place smells of antiseptic and cheap cologne. It is the worst combination and starts giving me a headache. The nurse greats me with an annoying, shrill voice. "Right this way miss."Says the nurse. " This totally will not get annoying." I said to myself quietly. "What was that dear? Asks the nurse in her shrill, annoying voice. "Nothing." I bluntly responded. We walked down the hallway as the scents of many people passing mixed together in the wind of our walking. Suddenly a gush of lavender air swept past us. It confused me because it momentarily blocked out the smell of antiseptic with something pleasant.
The nurse seemed to always be lightheaded. She annoys me so much and I am seeing to it that I get a new nurse. She escorted me down the halls but she was talking the entire way with her annoying squeaky voice. We kept walking and a familiar scent passed us again. I asked the nurse what that scent was. She replied,"Are you stupid or something, that's lavender." I responded," No I meant what was causing the scent. I know what lavender is and I am not stupid." The nurse made a disgusting sound and walked off.
I blindly stumbled around the hall for a while until I was greeted by a handsome voice. I had accidentally smacked a young man that was in the hall with a patient. The patient angrily said,"watch where you are going blind chick." They had an annoying, old sounding voice that had an annoyed air to it. The young man took the patient out of the room and into where they were staying. He returned and said ,"sorry about that she is quite grumpy and old so she got offended by you running into me. I saw your files in the doctors office. You are quite a unique patient. We have only had a few blind patients since the ocular section of the hospital opened up."

I stumbled back a bit because I was still in shock from my encounter. He took my hand and said," let me help you get a new nurse since yours ran off." He lead me down the hallway to the receptionists desk and he greeted the lady with a pleasant voice. The lady smelled of coffee creamer and off brand scented candles. She said in a sweet voice," What would you like Lance? You barely come up here anymore." He replied, " I am sorry. I have been busy with new patients. Speaking of that my friend here was abandoned by the new nurse that was seeing to her. She needs a new nurse." " Oh." Said the nurse as she made a slight noise that sounded like movement," maybe you should assist her since you two are already acquainted. You really only have to care for Cynthia, Lysandere, and Rose. It would give you something to do while the others are resting." Lance exclaimed happily and asked me if it was ok with me. I spoke back in
approval because he seems to be the nicest nurse here.
He took my hand again and began to lead me down the hall to my room. When we were half way there we heard a girl with a lovely voice singing a melancholy song. We were captivated and decided to stop.
" Little bird on the windowsill, comes to feed and eats it's fill. It sings it's song so sweet and bright, it never cared or had a fright, everything was right and calm but that is where all went wrong. The sky's darkened up above, as a feathered beast swooped down upon, the little bird so sweet and and bright, paid no mind to its life being on the line, suddenly with one feel swoop, the little bird feel without a doubt. It's cheery eyes lost all soul and it's wings would not work anymore, it blankly looked up to the sky only to see void." Lance was softly humming along until the voice that was singing degraded into sobbing and screaming. Lance said he had to go help the patient in the room the singing had came from and let go of my hand. He reassured that he would not take long. After a few minutes he came back and now the sound of a music box was playing Lance said " The music box helps her calm down. I have sympathy toward her because everyone thinks she is mental. She is actually quite nice." He stumbled back a bit. He stopped talking and took my hand again.
The lavender scent passed us in the hall again. While Lance and I kept walking I asked him who the lavender smell was coming from. He replied " it comes from a little girl named Cynthia. She came to us from a rich family that owns a large farm. They have a separate lavender farm in France, to bad she has to be here." I asked quietly, " what happened to her." He softly sighed and responded," she got cancer. No one would suspect such a sweet little girl to come down with something so awful."
I had stumbled back a bit with surprise. I would have fallen back if Lance was not there. We had finally reached my room. The room smelled good. It smelled... familiar. Then I realized, it was citrus that I had at my parents house. Lance informed me that my parents stopped by and brought various items for me to enjoy. I asked if they had brought my record player and an old music box that smells like citrus. He replied with a yes and asked if I wanted music playing. I replied," I would love that, I have had a tiring day and would like something to relieve stress." He cranked up the music box, and absconded. I shortly feel asleep to the melancholic and nostalgic music.
