Dark love (Zanemau)

Okay, so in this world, Aaron never died. Aphmau had caught him just before he tried to open the Irene portal. She managed to talk him put of it, and sent him home to go see Lilith. Aphmau spent the night in Pheonix Drop, and the next morning she went over to the portal.

Aphmau's P.O.V.

I can't believe Aaron was going to do that for me. I know that someday Garroth will be free again, and Zane will be locked up for his crimes.

The thought of Zane makes my heart beat faster. Mabey saving Phoenix Drop wasn't the only reason I said I would marry him. From the moment I met him, I knew Zane wasn't as evil as everyone thought. I saw good in him. He gave Kiki that amulet, and mabey him knowing about Kiki and Boldolf's past love for each other, assisted Boldolf by giving Kiki the pendant. Who knows?

So many things about Zane puzzle me. For example, why is he the way it is? Garroth had said Zane was always mean when they were kids, but there has to be a reason. Mabey I can ask him myself...

I walk down to the portal. I got the divine fragment from Aaron last night, so I can use that. Kenmur and Emmalyn said it was extremely powerful, so perhaps I could use it to open the portal and save the Ro'meave brothers. Only one way to find out.

The possible dangers cross my mind. What would I lose in exchange for saving them? My life, a friend, my family? Most likely my life, but I think I'm strong enough now to do this. I have to be.

I hold the divine fragment in my hands. It begins to glow, then bursts into dust. The dust covers me and I feel myself fill with strength. I transform, and try using my powers on the portal. A bright light comes, and the portal is open. I jump in, not even taking time to second guess.

Zane's P.O.V.

"Farewell dear brother," I say as I swing my sword at Garroth. Out of nowhere, Aphmau comes up and blocks it. Since when does she have wings?

"What?! How did you get here?!" I scream.

"Pure determination, that's how!" shouted Aphmau as she threw my sword to the ground. It slid across the floor as I ran to get it. I heard Aphmau yell behind me, "Garroth go! Now!"

"A-Aphmau..."

"I said go!"

I finally got My sword. Garroth was heading through the portal, and Aphmau was going to. She turned to face me. "You coming to?"

I stood stunned for a second. Why would Aphmau want me to come? I knew the second she'd steap through, the portal would close. I chose to go. Aphmau and I returned to the real world.

Now I know I'm a little crazy, but I swear Aphmau took my hand as we walked through. I looked at my hand when we were through, and they were free. Her hand was really close to mine though...

Aphmau's P.O.V.

I didn't think Zane would actually come back, so I made sure he did. Thinking back on it, I had seen hesitation in his eyes. Not only just now, but also when he was about to kill me. I never doubted why. Zane was good at heart. He just wouldn't admit it to himself.

I noticed Laurance was sitting near by. His eyes were wide, and his mouth was agape. I sent Garroth back with Laurance, and simply talked to Zane.

"I missed you two," I said.

"What?!"

"I missed both of you. As much as I hate you for what you've done to me and my family, no one deserves to be trapped."

"Aphmau...I don't know what to say..."

"Then awnser me this. You hesitated to come, just like you hesitated to kill me. Why?"

"Because...because..." Zane's hiding something from me. I have no idea what it could be. His face is tinted red, and he actually looks scared. What could he possibly be afraid of? Mabey my Irene form. My sword disappeared, so that isn't it. What could it be?

Zane's P.O.V.

She had to ask. She just had to ask. I can't tell her why! Irene knows she won't believe me! Come on Zane think! "Because...because..."

"Because what?"

"Because it would've been a waist to kill such a sweet, strong willed, beautiful woman."

Aphmau looked at me like I had two heads. "Zane, am I hearing things or did you just compliment me?"

"No you're not hearing things. I love you Aphmau. At first, I thought you were the usual stuck up lord who didn't care about their village. Once I got to know you, I discovered otherwise."

"Zane..."

"Once I discovered who you really were, I fell in love with you. How you went along with being Laurence's fiancé to save Garroth, how you agreed to marry me to save Pheonix Drop, and even letting me come back here after everything I've done. You're wonderful Aphmau. Don't ever change."

She was completely speechless. She didn't have to say anything. Her face said it all. Shock and happiness were written on her eyes. Wait, happiness? Did she...Nah. She couldn't, could she?
"Z-Zane I...I," Aphmau began.

"I understand if you don't feel the same. After everything I've done to you, I wouldn't love me either. But know this, I have to do this before I get thrown in jail."

I had a sneaking suspicion that this would be last time I would be outside a cell, so I took a chance. I kissed Aphmau for as long as possible. She never pulled away. She didn't even struggle when I pulled her towards me. "I'm sorry Aphmau," I say when the kiss breaks.

"Don't be. I love you too Zane." She turned to leave. As she left, she hollered over her shoulder, "I'll just tell the others you knocked me down and ran. Stay hidden."

"I'll will. Let no one know, of our dark love."

Zanemau litteraly scares the life out of me. I like Zane, but I don't like the idea of him getting with Aphmau. Sorry Zanemau fans, but I'm Laurmau 'till the end! As for our daily question, who do you guys think Aphmau hates more, Zane or Michi?
