Hopeguider makes her way through the sun beating desert of the Sandwing Kingdom. Her black scales feeling like melting gold. She looks back, seeing if she is being followed. I can't be followed, I can't be followed, Hopeguider thought as she took her next step. Her talon touches the sand, feeling like hot rocks. Suddenly just out of the grains, something touches her claw. "Huh?" She scraps the sand away from the object, finding a dark sand coloured egg, cracked and dirty. A huge crack across the side of the egg has a hole in it, a barbed tail coming out. Hopequider taps the egg as it cracks and she does it again, the egg cracking more.

Eventually the egg collapses in her talons and a dragonet appears through the cracks. The dragonet is an obvious Sandwing with an oddly shaded sand colour. She spots tiny dots of yellow on the side of it's face, neck and tail. "A Hybrid?" It just lays there, in her talons, it's eyes closed. It can't be dead. Hopequider takes a pouch from her side and places the dragonet softly in it, the pouch just big enough to fit it.

Hopeguider lifts off, but careful not to jiggle the dragonet too much. Aw, poor thing...wonder what I should call you...something strong, I know... Destinyrunner.

"You have to stop getting into fights like this, Destinyrunner." A claw mark under his eye is bleeding down his check as Hopeguider dabs it with a cloth. "Mother, I know..." Hopeguider hears talons running away, Destiny must have scared them off, typical. Destinyrunner's frill is snapped off near the bottom of his neck, also bleeding from the fight. Part of his ear ripped and his talons long and sharp. A true dragon for battling, except for one thing. His barb.

Destinyrunner's barb is, well unique. In a way none other Sandwing barb is. His barb is cursed, one of the worst curses Hopeguider has ever seen in her life. The cruse that if Destinyrunner uses his barb on a dragon, he will die on the very spot he stood before he attacked. Hope guider has lost count of how many times he has gotten close to using his barb, way too close.

"Try this." Hope guider places a cloth around his barb, then bunches it up around his tail, a gold chain holding it in place. "Is it comfortable." Destinyrunner nods, his tail swaying back and forth. "Thanks." Hope guider adjusts a view spots of cloth and tightens the golden chain so it will stay.

Destinyrunner lays down on his bed, pieces of skin of various animals laying the ground. Hopeguider looks at him as she gets ready to tell him the truth about who he is. "Destiny, I need to tell you something. You... you need to take this well. You can't get angry at me." Destinyrunner tilts his head at her. "Okay, I promise." Hope guider gulps. "I'm not your Mother."

"Heh, I knew that... since I was a dragonet." Hopeguider tries to smile. "That's not the only thing, Destiny. I know were your Mother is." His eyes widen as he stands up, his covered barb swaying across the rock floor. "Bring me to her now!" A tear runs down Hopeguider's face as she thinks he will run off, looking for Sandstorm. "You also have a sister, a twin in fact."

"I knew he would leave!" Hopeguider roars, her teeth baring, her eyes narrowed on the tent's entrance. "Why! I was here to guide you Destiny! I need to be there for you! Pyhhria isn't ready for you yet... not ready for what is to come." She roars once more, the whole Sand Kingdom hearing the dreadful roar filled with sadness and anger.

"Mother!" Destinyrunner covers his head with his wing as sand hits the webbing on his wings. Destinyrunner thinks as the grains hit him, were is my true Mother. "Mother! Answer me!" Destinyrunner cries with agony as he stumbles into the desert sand, the storm covering over his scales. The grains going into the flesh through hard plates on his neck. Ow... Why did I leave you. I wish I could go back.

A sharp rock comes flying through the storm, twirling through the air, toward Destinyrunner. "AH!" It crashes right into his neck, a huge gash showing as it bleeds and bleeds onto the sand, the desert turning into a red canvas. Destiny falls unconscious and he lays in the storm, his body turning cold from the loss of blood.
