"Ugh....." I groan, pressing the snooze button on my alarm clock. I started to drift off to sleep until the welcoming aroma of fresh coffee and pancakes brought me to my senses. I quickly get up, grabbing sweatpants, undergarments, and a t- shirt. I take a 10 min shower, savoring the hot water. As it is winter, I'm very cold at night.

After my shower, I put on my clothes and walk downstairs. My dad is sitting on the couch, tapping his I Phone 6 and sipping his coffee. "Morning." he says in a low, gruff voice. He's not mean, he's just not a morning person. Then I asked, "What day is it?" Then I walked to the calendar. I gasped. It's my birthday today! I hugged my mom as I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a mug as I went.

I poured coffee into the cup, then adding milk and a little sugar. I grabbed the whipped cream and started to put it into the mug. "Don't add too much." my mom says, giving me a pointed look. "But it's my birthday..." I fake pout. My mom rolls her eyes, going back to the pancakes. And that's my confirmation to add as much whipped cream as I want.

Then I add chocolate syrup to to the top and take a sip. That's how I make mocha's. I quickly eat my pancakes and finish my coffee, then head to school.

                                                                                      ...

I sigh as I open my locker, shoving my bag into it. Most of my friends aren't here today. Olivia went to China, Taylor has a field trip,  Cassidy is sick, Felicity ditched school, Maurine went with her boyfriend to Spain, Nikki is getting stitches, and Kara got a concussion yesterday. This leaves me with Kaylee and  Isabelle. The bell rings, and I scurry off to class.

*I go in, finding Jack trying to flirt with Isabelle. He leaned in, trying to kiss her, but I push him back. "Get off her." I demand, narrowing my eyes at him. "And what exactly makes you think I will?" Jack inquires, motioning for back up. None of his friends move. Most of them are either only the jock's friends because they're scared of him, or because they are also dumb jocks. The reason none are backing him up, is because they don't have a girlfriend, and they like me and my friends.

"Because you're. All. Alone." I say, putting emphasis on alone. He looks at them, and in that short amount of time, I grab Isabelle's hand and walk to our seats. Before he can say anything else, the bell rings and our teacher calls our attention. "Ok class, today we will be trying to make ice come out of our hands," the class murmured ans whispered at this, "Even if the center of your hand turns blue, or just a tiny amount of ice comes out of the palm, please tell me."

Then I concentrated on my hand, trying to do as he said. After a few minutes of trying, I give up. Then some ice comes out of my hand. Then I walk up to Mr. Brown, opening my mouth to say something. Then he says, "Come with me." He is the scariest teacher in the school, and even though I'm his favorite student, I follow him to a room I had never noticed.

"Put these on." he says, handing me some light purple silk gloves. I slip them on, noticing that the rim of them tighten just enough that I can't take them off. How odd. "Please sit back down." he excuses me, so I walk back to my desk.
