On our way out we bumped into Matt.
"Hi guys. Didn't know you were meeting."
"Neither did we. Just bumped into each other. You alright, mate?" says Sebastian, lying to one of his best friends.
The amount of lies in their friendship was getting bigger and bigger everyday.
"Yeah, just grabbing a cup of coffee before practice. See you at your place later on?"
"Yeah see you there, Im bringing the beer."
"Alright. See you. Bye C, see you soon"
"See ya" I said as I went out the door with Sebastian
"So boys night you say?" I said laughing.
"Shut up" Sebastian said.
We went into the University. The day was boring as usual, revising the same music theory as always and practicing the same songs, but the difference between music theory and playing the piano is that playing it gives you an up-lifting feeling. Many artists are really afraid to go on stage. But I'm not. The stage is my home. When I am practicing I like to believe that I am actually playing for millions of people on a big stage. It gives me power and confidence. On my way home Sebastian asked me if I want to join him and Matt on the "boys night" and I said yes because why the hell not. Boys + one girl night because I didn't had anything else to do.
I went home, ate a salad and I did some other cooking, some cleaning, who ever thought that the adult life is so boring? I got dressed and went over to Sebastian's.
I knocked on the door and he quickly answered.
"Thank God you came in before Matt" he said taking a deep breath
"Oh nice to see you again too"
"Okay, come in. I need to tell you something" he said, sounding kinda calm.
"Take it slow man, my brain can't handle two big things in just one day" I said sarcastically as always. He put on a straight face and I realised that is serious.
"Okay so I plan on telling Matt about the whole leaving thing."
"Well that was easy for me to keep the secret - not even 24 hours"
"Hahah, thats the hard part. I might have a request. Can you actually act "surprised" when I tell him? Because if you don't we would realise that I told you before and I don't want him too..."
"Okay, but that's the last thing I'm doing for you..for tonight"
"If I were you, I wouldn't be so sure. You are probably gonna do my popcorn for the movie we are watching" he said joking around. As we finished laughing at our own jokes we hear the door opening.
"Who's that?" I said a little bit scared.
"Well thats is me bitches" said Matt nearly shouting.
I didn't realise they were in that stage of their friendship when they don't knock on their doors anymore and just come in. As soon as I saw Matt's face I remembered what I saw that night - a memory I wish I could forget. But I don't think I will ever. After Sebastian leaves I need to speak to both of them. If love would be a crime, Matt and Ivy would be criminals, murdering Sebastian and I would be the witness. The one who sees everything but is afraid to speak.
"Okay, mate. Sorry to kill your happiness but I've got some big news. For both of you" Sebastian suddenly paused my thoughts.
"Friday I'm leaving. Two weeks"
My cheap "surprised" acting was nothing compared to what we were expecting from Matt and what we actually received. A dead silent came in for a second.
"I can't even look at you man. I know exactly why you are telling me this. Ivy's birthday, isn't it man? I don't even have enough fingers to count the times you have let her down" said Matt with an irritated voice "You are her "perfect boyfriend" who's never there for her. Others would give their life to be with a girl like her"
His angry words made much more sense to me than to Sebastian.
"You wanna know why I'm telling you this? I'm telling you because...
